Embark Studios has shared its plans for the first half of 2026 for their popular game, ARC Raiders. They’ve detailed all the new content and improvements players can expect between now and April. Following a very successful launch, Embark is continuing to add to the game, starting next week with updates like a new matchmaking system and map conditions, with plenty more to come for the ARC Raiders community.
Embark Studios quickly made a name for itself after launching in 2018, especially with the release of The Finals in 2023. Composed of experienced game developers, the studio became one to watch in the shooting game world. They followed up in October with ARC Raiders, a new third-person shooter where players battle both each other (PvP) and the environment (PvE). Despite launching between two major titles, Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, ARC Raiders has become a huge success, selling over 12 million copies and attracting hundreds of thousands of players daily. To keep players engaged, Embark has now shared some of their plans for the game’s future, extending into 2026.
ARC Raiders Reveals 2026 Roadmap
Embark Studios has shared its detailed plans for the next few months of ARC Raiders, following earlier hints about new maps coming in 2026. Starting this month, an update expected on January 27th will introduce a new matchmaking system for players level 40 and above. This could significantly improve the experience for dedicated players, allowing them to start missions with better equipment and potentially offering the challenging, high-reward raids many have requested. The update will also include a new player project and a small change to the map, though details about these features are still limited.
The game will receive another update in February called Shrouded Sky, adding a new map challenge, enemy type, player activity, raider customization options, map improvements, and a second chance to participate in expeditions. Details about the updated map and the new enemy are currently limited. More challenges, enemies, and player activities will be added in March with the Flashpoint update. However, the biggest update is planned for April, promising significant new content.
The next update, Riven Tides, is scheduled for release in April and will feature both a new map and a powerful new enemy. Many players believe this enemy will be the Emperor, a massive creature that’s been approaching Blue Gate. While Embark hasn’t officially confirmed the map’s name, the community widely expects it to be called Volcano Rise, and it will likely be set around an active volcano.
Embark Studios says players can expect fresh content, including new missions, in-game items, cosmetic upgrades, and improvements to the overall gaming experience. Many fans have specifically asked for a feature that lets players save their preferred gear setups in ARC Raiders, so they can spend less time preparing in the base (Speranza) and more time exploring the surface (Topside). The developers have heard these requests and are actively working on addressing them – one developer even shared that they personally prefer using a basic setup because constantly rebuilding loadouts takes too much time.
