The trailer features a battle on a lush, forested planet that fans believe is Kashyyyk, the home world of the Wookiees. We’ve only seen glimpses of Kashyyyk in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and the video game Star Wars Jedi: The Fallen Order. If Darth Maul were to hide on Kashyyyk, it would explain how he could establish a criminal network while remaining hidden from the Empire.

The Star Wars galaxy is incredibly vast, so the possibilities for new settings are endless. While some planets might share similar environments, they often have unique plants and creatures. We won’t know for sure where Maul establishes his base until the series starts.
