Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – The Zora Child’s Fate Quest Walkthrough

Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - The Zora Child's Fate Quest Walkthrough

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent navigating various gaming worlds, I’ve come to appreciate the subtleties that often lie beneath the surface of side quests like The Zora Child’s Fate in Echoes of Wisdom. Initially, it seems like a typical quest about saving a child from an impending danger, but upon closer inspection, it delves into the heartfelt story of a mother trying to help her child adapt and grow.

In “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom,” some side missions aren’t initiatable until specific story events occur. One such mission is the Zora Child’s Fate, which Zelda can embark on following the sealing of the Rift in the River Zora Village. This quest involves aiding a Zora Child who is trying to understand why his mother has become unusually behaved.

As a devoted fan, I must say the Zora Child’s Quest in “Zelda” series carries an intriguing air of mystery, but fear not, by journey’s end, all pieces will fall into place. You see, contrary to any strange rumors, his mother doesn’t wish to sacrifice him to monsters; instead, she yearns to teach him the ways of swimming among the Zora, a skill he can only acquire with Zelda’s aid in studying specific fish species.

How To Start Zora Child’s Fate Quest

In order to start the side quest called “The Fate of Zora Child,” you need to first finish the main quest titled “Chaos at River Zora Village.” Once you’ve advanced through the main storyline, look for a Zora Child located near two huts in the eastern part of the village. This area is roughly halfway up on your world map.

In the game Echoes of Wisdom, similar to other Side Quests, the Zora Child has a speech bubble marked with a small red exclamation point in the upper-left corner, implying he’s a quest-giver. But instead of this formal indication, let’s imagine him sighing dramatically and saying something like “ughhhh”. Upon talking to him, you discover that he’s terrified of swimming and harbors suspicion towards his mother, believing she wants to hand him over to monsters!

All Steps & Which Echoes To Summon

Once you’ve taken up the task, proceed towards the hut situated on the left side, not the one next to the Zora Child. Inside, you’ll find a Zora gazing into a pool in the house’s center. This particular Zora will ask Zelda to fetch three specific types of creatures.

In this mission, Zelda must utilize several Echoes to fulfill the Zora Mother’s demands. To do this, just call forth each Echo and place it in the pool situated before the Zora. This will initiate the following phase of the quest.

Step One: Summon A Sinister Fish

  • Requirement: “A Sinister Fish”
  • Solution: Chompfin (Shark), Tangler, or any other lvl 2 Fish Echo

Step Two: A Fish That Goes “Boom”

  • Requirement: “A Monster That Goes BOOM”
  • Solution: Bombfish

Step Three: A Shocking Jellyfish & Conclusion

  • Requirement: “A Shocking Jellyfish Monster”
  • Solution: Biri

After fulfilling Zora’s three Fish tasks, players of Echoes of Wisdom can move forward in their quest by venturing outside. Here you will witness an endearing scene between the Zora Mother and Child – it appears the Mother was crafting a unique Scale for her child to enhance their swimming abilities rather than offering them as food to monsters. The delightful sight of the Zora Child learning to swim is followed by the Mother rewarding Zelda with something special, too.

Zora Child’s Fate Quest Rewards

To finish the Zora Child’s Fate quest in Echoes of Wisdom, players will be rewarded with one of the game’s most beneficial items – the Zora Scale. This item significantly boosts your swimming speed, making underwater sections less challenging and the two water-based Acorn Gathering minigames more manageable.
