Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - Up a Wall Guide

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent in the vast world of Hyrule, I must say that “Up a Wall” quest in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is an absolute delight for beginners. This side quest is so easy it’s almost comical, making it perfect for newcomers or those just starting their adventure. The reward might be meager, but the joy of saving a young boy from two pesky Spear Moblins is priceless!

In the game Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, side missions play a significant role, but you won’t be able to delve deeply into them until you’ve conquered the Suthorn dungeon initially. Once you accomplish your first task that Impa assigned, you’ll have free reign to explore Hyrule as you please. One mission you might encounter is “Up a Wall,” which is the simplest side quest in Echoes of Wisdom. It’s likely one of the first missions you’ll accept, so it’s best to complete it during the early stages of your gameplay.

How to Complete & Where to Find

As a keen adventurer, before embarking on this intriguing side mission, I must first rid the Suthorn Ruins of the rift that shrouds them and rescue Minister Lefte. Following her assistance, she’ll direct me to Lueberry’s residence, which will move the narrative forward. My subsequent objective is to eliminate the colossal rifts that have appeared in the Gerudo Desert and Jabul Waters. The enigmatic Echoes of Wisdom allows me to decide my course of action, but I can take a brief detour to delve deeper into Hyrule before resuming the main story quests.

Heading north along the path starting from Lueberry’s residence will lead you to an area marked by nine pillars. Here, you can discover some fresh Echoes, one of which is the Crawler – a spider-like creature that allows climbing on various surfaces. Until you obtain either the Frog Bracelet or Platboom, it would be beneficial to employ the Crawler while navigating during your exploration.

Close by a structure known as the “northeastern pillar,” you’ll encounter two Spear Moblins and a young lad named Verley, perched on some shattered remains. This engagement initiates the side quest titled “Up a Wall.” The objective here is straightforward: vanquish the two Spear Moblins. You can eliminate them with the Darknut you acquired from the Suthorn Ruins rift, or opt for airborne creatures like Keese for the task. Keep in mind that Spear Moblins have long reach and can attack both you and Zelda from afar, so maintain a safe distance between them. Once defeated, make sure to learn the Echo of the Spear Moblin.

If you’ve received the Peahat Echo from a cave south of Suthorn Ruins’ Waypoint, you can utilize it efficiently to handle the pesky Moblins. With its blades extended, grasp it using the Bind Ability (X-button) and guide it towards the Spear Moblins.

Where to Use Rupees

Once all Spear Moblins are defeated, you’ll encounter Varley who assumes you’re Link. He rewards you with 20 Rupees, a small sum that is more valuable at the start of Echoes than towards its end. You might choose to use these Rupees to purchase items from shops scattered across Hyrule, as there are several accessories available for purchase. It’s advisable to save some of your coins for future needs. Besides shopping, Rupees can also be spent on refreshments like smoothies or enjoyed in minigames such as Mango Rush.
