Viewers immediately noticed the mention of “AGE 1000,” a reference that previously appeared only in the now-defunct online game Dragon Ball Online. That game launched in 2010 but is no longer available, with Xenoverse serving as a spiritual successor.

Fans quickly noticed the ‘AGE 1000’ setting, and pointed out that previously, only the game Dragon Ball Online had used it.

This game lets players travel back to the year 1000 for an adventure in a vast, open world. They can search for Dragon Balls, meet characters, and team up with other players. The game features a variety of character classes and races, takes place in different time periods and locations, and offers many different types of quests.

Although Dragon Ball Online is no longer running, Xenoverse came close to continuing its legacy. It borrowed the main storyline and character customization options that originally appeared in DBO.

This is why fans think AGE 1000 is a direct follow-on (or reboot) of Dragon Ball Online.
