Honestly, the Epic Games Store has been killing it so far this year! They started 2026 strong with Total War: Three Kingdoms and Wildgate – totally different games, but both really fun. Then they dropped Bloons TD 6 and the first two Styx games. And it kept going! Just recently, they were giving away Rustler for free, and that deal lasted until January 29th. It’s been a great run of freebies!
The game Rustler is a wild, funny take on medieval life, blending the over-the-top action of games like Grand Theft Auto with the silly humor of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Epic Games Store is continuing to offer games for mature audiences, and next week, on January 29th, they’re giving away Definitely Not Fried Chicken – a title that fans of Breaking Bad will definitely want to check out.

Man, even though Breaking Bad ended ages ago, it’s still up there as one of the greatest shows ever made. A huge part of that is the characters – they’re just so well-written and the actors absolutely nailed their roles. Everyone always talks about Bryan Cranston as Walter White and Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman, and they deserve all the credit, but I always thought Giancarlo Esposito as Gus Fring was amazing too. It’s crazy to think he wasn’t even in half the episodes, but he still totally stood out as a fan favorite!
Gustavo Fring, the hidden leader of a massive drug operation in the American Southwest, is known to the public as the polite owner of a fried chicken restaurant. He’s a unique villain – not famous for angry explosions, but for staying calm and expertly controlling the people around him. Now, a free game available on January 29th from the Epic Games Store lets you experience what it’s like to be him.
While not an official Breaking Bad game, Definitely Not Fried Chicken is heavily inspired by the popular TV show. Players secretly build a drug empire while running a fried chicken shop as a cover. You start by building your restaurant from scratch – arranging furniture, buying supplies, and hiring employees. Once the shop is profitable, you can start the real money-maker: creating illegal substances, finding people to distribute them, and connecting with new contacts.
I’m really getting into the gameplay loop of Definitely Not Fried Chicken! It’s like a classic business sim where you’re always moving forward. The more money I make, the better I can upgrade my equipment, hire awesome staff, and make even higher quality products. Then, that leads to even more money to upgrade again! Eventually, you can even buy new restaurants and… well, let’s just say some interesting properties. It’s a pretty straightforward idea, but there’s enough going on that I can see myself playing for hours. It’s surprisingly addictive!
Beyond building a successful business, Definitely Not Fried Chicken challenges players to effectively manage their employees across all aspects of the operation. This includes creating work schedules and taking care of staff needs, like providing enough restrooms or a comfortable break room to boost morale. While Definitely Not Fried Chicken isn’t the most refined game available on the Epic Games Store, it should satisfy those hoping for a Breaking Bad video game experience.
