As a big fan of Arknights, I’m really excited about the new stuff in Endfield! It’s not just about processing minerals anymore. Once you unlock certain buildings, you can actually grow plants on your base! And those plants aren’t just for show – you can use them to make things like medicine and even explosives, which is awesome because those items need organic materials. You won’t be able to do this right away when you start playing, but you won’t have to wait too long either. You’ll actually need plants pretty early on in the Endfield story, and I’ve figured out how to get started!
How to Grow Plants in Endfield
In Endfield, you won’t be farming in traditional fields. Instead, all growing happens inside special machines called Seed-Picking Units and Planting Units, which you build in your base. Seed-Picking Units process gathered plants like Buckflower to create seeds, and then Planting Units use those seeds to grow more plants. Connecting these two units together lets you create an endless supply of plants for crafting more complex items.
To build these facilities, you’ll need the following
- Seed-Picking Unit: Amethyst Parts
- Planting Unit: Carbon, Amethyst Parts
Amethyst Parts are created by processing Amethyst Fibers in a Fitting Unit, and Carbon is made by refining plants in a Refining Unit.
If you’re planning a small farm near your base, the diagram can help you get started. Keep in mind that the resource numbers might seem a bit off because you’re using Buckflower to grow more Buckflower, but it should still provide plenty of resources when you’re first starting out.
Buckflower is valuable in Valley IV because it’s used to create Buck Capsules (B), the most profitable item to sell at the Refugee Camp Outpost. You can also give Buck Capsules (B) to your Operators in Endfield as a tactical advantage. If an Operator’s health drops below 60%, they’ll automatically use a Buckfield Capsule to recover 655 HP.
As you progress in the game, you’ll need to increase your production capacity, either by expanding existing lines or building new ones, to support your teams and the population of Talos-II. For example, crafting Buck Capsules requires Ferrium Bottles, meaning you’ll have to build a dedicated production line for them and integrate it with your existing Buckpowder production. Building factories can become quite complex, but you can always simplify things by using blueprints created by other players.
