Metal Gear Solid 1 Would Be Hard To Remake, Konami Says

As a dedicated gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and nostalgia upon hearing about Konami’s plans to remake Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Having played the original trilogy countless times, I’ve always felt that MGS1 and MGS2 held a special place in my heart, but the jungle setting and stealth gameplay of MGS3 was truly a masterpiece.

Producers from Konami have stated that it was less challenging to recreate Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater as compared to both Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2.

In a recent conversation with Famitsu (through Genki), game producers Noriaki Okamura and Yuji Korekado elaborated on why remaking Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 would be more challenging compared to Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Okamura emphasized that remaking the former two titles necessitates creating certain sections anew, such as level design, whereas with the remake of MGS 3, the developers primarily needed to construct a few new components.

Okamura stated that their initial goal is for players to experience the remake of Metal Gear Solid: Delta, gather feedback, and adjust accordingly. Additionally, only a small number of staff members who worked on Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 remain. Their intention is to develop a strategy to safeguard the Metal Gear series for the next 10 or even 50 years, ensuring its longevity before those associated with the original games depart.

In simpler terms, Korekado emphasized that launching the Metal Gear Solid Remake on a PC platform could ensure the game remains enjoyable for the next decade or two, and their aim is to make this happen.
