As a seasoned adventurer who’s traversed through countless labyrinthine dungeons and outwitted more than my fair share of pesky guardians, I can confidently say that the Deku Scrub Lockup stealth sections in Echoes of Wisdom are no walk in the park. But fear not, dear reader, for with a bit of patience and cunning, we shall navigate these tricky trials together.
Following their conquest of Hyrule Castle’s dungeon, players of “Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom” are rewarded with three additional spots showing signs of Rifts: the Holy Mount Lanayru, Eldin Volcano, and the Faron Wetlands. Each of these areas houses a Temple that forms the fifth, sixth, and seventh dungeons within the game.
In each area, there is a particular set of tasks or quests that need to be finished first before accessing the zone’s dungeon becomes available. To enter Faron Temple, for instance, players require a Membership Card which grants them access to the structure containing the Faron Rift.
Obtaining a Membership Card isn’t all that difficult if you’re willing to delve deep into the designated area, conquer a significant Fissure, and manage an escape from prison without relying on your Trident.
A Membership Card Is Required For The Faron Dungeon
Upon arriving at Faron Wetlands, I discovered that to access the Faron Temple’s dungeon, I needed a special Membership Card – the Echoes of Wisdom Card. This unique item allows entrance into the Sweet Spot, an exclusive gathering place for Deku Scrubs in Scrubton’s northern region. It’s a hidden club, and the only way to find it is by following where the Rifts have appeared, as that’s where you can enjoy their homemade Cotton Candy!
The entrance to the Faron Temple dungeon is inside the Rift that has opened inside the Sweet Spot, but you can’t get in until you get a Membership Card. To get a Membership Card, Zelda has to find someone that doesn’t mind giving up their own.
How To Get A Membership Card In Echoes of Wisdom
The Scrub you’re seeking is named Blossu and can be found in the lower right part of the Faron Wetlands. If you chat with other Scrubs, they’ll inform Zelda that Blossu resides in one of the southern areas within this zone; however, it’s important to note that the Stilled Heart Lake Rift is situated in the bottom-left corner of the Faron Wetlands, not at Blossu’s residence.
From Scrubton, travel southwards until you arrive at the most southeastern tip of the Faron Wetlands (which is also the lowest point on your world map). When you approach the cluster of Deku Scrubs near the fissure, a cutscene will start.
In a simple and conversational way: Meet Blossu, the adorable Deku Scrub sporting a tiny flower on her head. She’ll express her concerns about the Rift, feeling ignored by everyone. Your task is to inquire about her Membership Card, then venture into the tranquil world resembling Blossu’s House. There, you must find and gather Tri’s five companions to help seal this world.
Leaving the Rift, Deku Scrubs waiting outside will shout “MONSTER!” at Zelda due to her destroying the Cotton Candy. After a fade-out to black, it’s revealed that our heroine is now imprisoned in the Deku Scrub Jail.
Once you’ve entered this restricted zone, they’ll confiscate your Three-Stick. Your task is to retrieve it and make a successful exit from the premises.
In the first room, employ the Bind ability since you’re accompanied by Tri. Use this skill to snatch the Key that the Deku Scrub Guard drops. Afterwards, push it beyond the bars, let it fall, and collect it to unlock every door in the Deku Scrub Lockup subarea – including your own cell door.
Step out from your cell, then proceed towards the staircase situated on the left side. The staircase on the opposite side should be used at a later time, and exiting through the nearby door will promptly trigger the guards as Zelda steps outside.
In the game Echoes of Wisdom, you’ll encounter the initial part of two stealth areas featuring Deku Scrub Lockups. However, since you don’t possess the Tri Rod or your Echoes, it might be a bit challenging. But don’t worry, the Deku Scrub Guards are quite dim-witted and follow straightforward patterns that can be easily dodged.
- For the first Deku Scrub who patrols on the top of the screen, walk to the left and pick up the Crate on the bottom of the screen. Place it behind you, then pick up the next one and continue left to completely avoid crossing paths with the Guard.
- The second Deku Scrub is standing still but rotates clockwise, changing its field of view. Wait for it to turn left, then run to the bottom of the room. Walk to the left, and wait for it to turn to the right, then run to the top of the room.
- The third and fourth Deku Scrubs are also standing still and rotating, but in opposite directions in the middle of a wide-open room. Wait for them both to be looking up and down the room, then run behind the crates at the bottom-right. Then wait for the Guards to be looking right and left, and dash to the left side of the room to evade their gaze.
At the far end of the room, go down the staircase, find the door next to the bushes in the center, open it. Descend the ramp you’ll encounter, and locate a Bed suspended above you. Attach to it, then tread carefully back up the ramp to raise the Bed over the cell door.
Could you please carry an item up to the farthest ledge on the right, as well as a table, following the same approach, so we can enter the room located at the end of the rightmost hall?
Utilize your Binding ability to shift the bushes in the center of this corridor, uncovering a hidden door to another chamber. Venture into this room and employ your Binding skill again to maneuver the furnishings within, ascending the totems and acquiring a Heart Fragment. The Frog Ring could prove quite beneficial in this scenario as you won’t be able to rely heavily on your top-tier Echoes to reach the top.
As I step into the chamber, I encounter a mischievous Deku Scrub who has made off with Zelda’s Tri Rod for a sweet cotton candy feast. Engage him in conversation to retrieve your precious rod back, then press the blue eye switch to unlock the door high above us.
To return to the room where your cell is located, pass through the door on your right side. This will lead you to the second hidden area in the game. Since you can now use your Echoes, navigating this stealth section should be much smoother for you.
Call forth three Water Blocks near the wall on your right-hand side and ascend onto its peak. Employ a bed or Flying Tile duplicate to traverse the tiny void at the room’s summit, subsequently utilize a Flying Tile to soar directly toward the end of the second Deku Shrub Lockup stealth segment. Infiltrate the well situated there to reach an underwater side-scrolling level.
As a gamer, I’ve got to press down on those crates or smash them with my Swordfighter form to clear a path to the pool. Once that’s done, either move the crates aside or destroy them again if they’re blocking me further. Then, it’s time to take out the two Hydrozol as I keep moving to the right.
Utilize the Flying Tile Echo again to traverse over the waterfall in the pool while heading right, then destroy the Deku Baba beneath the water using a Bombfish. Subsequently, employ another Flying Tile, swiftly attach yourself to it, and press R to navigate through the downward current and break free from the lockup.
Once you step outside, Blossu will start another conversation with Zelda which leads to her receiving a Membership Card from him. With this Membership Card, Zelda can proceed into the Sweet Spot and ultimately seal the Rift in the Faron Temple – the fifth dungeon of Echoes of Wisdom.
