Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – Secret Chief Talks Quest Guide

Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - Secret Chief Talks Quest Guide

As a seasoned adventurer who’s traversed through countless lands and unraveled numerous mysteries, I must say that the Secret Chief Talks quest in Echoes of Wisdom is one for the books! The intrigue and suspense were palpable as I navigated my way from one Zora hub to another, piecing together clues like a true detective.

In the game Echoes of Wisdom, while most side missions can be tackled independently, some are unlocked following the completion of specific main quest stages. For instance, Dohna’s Challenge in the Gerudo Desert won’t appear until you have liberated the Gerudo Desert from the Rift within the Gerudo Sanctum.

Following the resolution of the Rift in Jabul Waters main quest, where Zelda successfully ends the squabbling between the River and Sea Zora Chiefs, another mission becomes available. In this new quest, the two chiefs are not at odds; instead, they are conspiring about something secretively, which has caused alarm among their subordinates.

After wrapping up the Jabul Waters Rift’s main storyline, a bunch of side quests appear scattered across both the Sea Zora and River Zora hubs. Over by the Sea Zora Village to the right, you’ll stumble upon Rogma, Chief Kushara’s assistant, chillin’ on a tiny island. He’s got this puzzled look on his face like he just realized something, with a speech bubble floating above his head saying “Hmm, I suppose that’s me…

Following our conversation, Rogma plans to inform Zelda that he’s noticed some unusual behavior from Kushara. It so happens that Kushara has been sneaking about and clandestinely meeting with her former adversary, Chief Dradd of the River Zora.

Rogma thinks she has been avoiding him, and asks Zelda to go find Chief Dradd to see what’s up.

Once you acquire the Secret Chief Talks mission, proceed towards River Zora Village either by walking north or using a waypoint teleport. Upon arrival, visit the Chief’s Hut. There, you will find Inawa, Dradd’s assistant, alone and worried since Dradd has been absent and holding clandestine meetings without informing her about his whereabouts.

Zelda is instructed to seek out another River Zora to inquire if they’ve spotted Dradd. One River Zora mentions receiving a letter and abruptly disappearing, while others suggest that Tellum, another River Zora, might have information. However, they mention that he’s gone fishing towards the eastern part of the River Zora Village.

The location of Tellum isn’t strictly to the east of River Zora Village; instead, it leans slightly towards the north-east. Look for the spot indicated on your map – there, you’ll find Tellum camouflaged among some bushes. You’ll recognize the area when you spot his basket on the riverbank.

As a fan, I’m just speculating here, but since Dradd often hangs out with Kushara at Zora Cove, it seems likely that’s where he might be now. So, jump back to the Sea Zora Village Waypoint and take a dip northeast to reach Zora Cove on your world map. Easy peasy!

Step into the island’s cave to trigger a scene unfolding. It was discovered in this moment that Dradd and Kushara had been discreetly attempting to express gratitude towards Rogma and Inawa, unbeknownst to them.

Reward For Completing Secret Chief Talks

To aid the Zora helpers in understanding why the two Chiefs are engaging in clandestine conversations, Zelda will receive as a reward an Accessory called the Gold Brooch.

This useful item boosts the likelihood of Rupees showing up when you defeat enemies or clear grass, making it quite beneficial if you have large purchases to make, such as upgrading the expanding inventory slots of the Great Fairy’s Accessory.
