Resident Evil Requiem’s Leon is a Brutal Powerhouse To Offset Grace’s Weakness

Resident Evil Requiem comes out next month, and fans are really looking forward to it! The game goes back to Raccoon City, letting players experience the story with both Leon Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft. It offers a unique gameplay experience, switching between first- and third-person perspectives. Like previous games in the series, Requiem tells a dual story, with Leon and Grace investigating the same areas but at different times.

A recent Xbox Wire feature highlighted the stark contrast between the two main characters. Leon Kennedy is a seasoned fighter, strong and capable in the face of disaster, while Grace Ashcroft appears shy and scared, but is determined to make it through.

Leon Cracks Skulls, Grace Kind of Avoids Them

Resident Evil Requiem feels like two distinct games thanks to its contrasting perspectives, as highlighted by Xbox Wire. When playing as Grace, you experience the game as a vulnerable and frightened character. She has limited inventory space, isn’t skilled in combat, and can’t defeat the game’s tougher enemies.

Leon, meanwhile, is powerfully fighting the undead, easily defeating enemies – even those Grace struggles with – all while cracking jokes and delivering witty lines.

Playing as Grace focuses on investigation, with fighting only happening when necessary. Leon, on the other hand, is all about action, using weapons like chainsaws and a hatchet – and his bare hands and feet – to quickly defeat enemies.

Okay, so playing as Leon was a total blast! The Xbox Wire described his sections as just… huge, action-packed, and kinda over-the-top, which was a nice break from playing as Grace. With Grace, everything’s super careful – you really have to think through every single room and corner before you move, but Leon? It’s more like running in guns blazing!
