Eman Ayaz describes learning about the cancellation of a video game she worked on – through news reports – as the worst moment of her professional life.
The voice actor recently shared exciting news in a YouTube video: she landed a major role in a project she calls “life-changing.” She’s been working on it for the past three years, witnessing its development from start to finish, and was eager to finally be able to talk about it after a long wait.
Unfortunately, however, that never happened.
“And this week I found out through the internet that the project has been cancelled,” she said.
How She Found Out About The Cancelation
Ayaz learned about the project’s cancellation when her brother checked in on her. She was confused by his concern and asked why he was worried, replying that she was fine. He then sent her a news article confirming the project had been canceled.
She said she was completely stunned. She’d filmed promotional material for the project just a month or two ago, and everything seemed to be going well. She hadn’t heard anything further and everyone was excited about its release this year.
Although she didn’t say it outright, Ayaz seems to be referring to Ubisoft’s decision to cancel the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. Earlier reports from TopMob indicated that internal marketing plans suggested a December marketing push and a January release.
It’s now clear that the game wasn’t released as planned. Tom Henderson from TopMob reported the release was first delayed to March, and ultimately canceled.
