Highguard Roadmap Reveals An Entire Year of Content Plans

Wildlight Entertainment’s new shooter, Highguard, launched today and is already proving popular. The release comes after a quiet month following its debut at The Game Awards last December. The developers have also revealed an ambitious plan for the next year, detailing seven upcoming content updates.

Initially, the game’s launch is looking very promising, but it remains to be seen if enough people will keep playing long-term for these updates to truly make a difference. However, there’s already plenty of content to get potential players interested in the future of the game.

Highguard 2026 Roadmap Has Content Drops Every Month

As a Highguard fan, I’m really blown away by their plans for 2026! It’s amazing to hear they’re aiming for a new content drop every month. That’s not something you see often in games like this, and it really shows how much Wildlight believes in what they’ve built. They’re already planning stuff all the way through December, which is incredible!

The game is launching soon, and the first major content update will follow in just two weeks. This update introduces a new playable character called a Warden, a new map to explore, and Ranked Mode for competitive play. It also adds a new rideable mount, joining the existing bear, horse, and panther. More content is planned for March, including a new base building option and a tool for organizing raids.

Think of it this way: the ‘map’ is where the game takes place – the overall playing field. The ‘base’ is the specific point on that map you’re trying to protect, and you choose which base to defend at the start of the match. It’s essentially the goal – the main objective you’re fighting for. Pretty straightforward, right?

Highguard’s roadmap expands further throughout the year.

Expect new Wardens and bases to be released every two months. Highguard will receive new maps in June and October, and a special game mode will be available for a limited time in July. Look forward to surprise events in October and December, and a variety of new equipment throughout the year.

I’m so excited for all the upcoming content! It looks like Highguard is getting a new weapon every few months – April, June, August, and October, to be exact. And if you’re into amulets, there will be new ones dropping in May, July, September, and November. They’re also planning to add some cool mods in April, June, August, October, and even December! But the biggest news for me is that a new raid tool is coming in March – and that’s it, just March, so mark your calendars!

New loot items will be published in Highguard in May and September.

Oh, and all the content is entirely free.

This is a pretty dense roadmap, but time will tell how the delivery of it fares.
