Okay, so when you first start playing, there’s this one big quest called ‘The Dark Below.’ I was a little worried it wouldn’t be enough content, but it’s actually really long with a lot of steps! It should definitely keep me busy until they add more quests, but I need to hurry up and finish it because it sounds like it won’t be around forever!

How To Complete ‘The Dark Below’ Questline In Highguard
The Dark Below questline has seven parts: six steps to finish the story, and a final reward for completing everything.
It’s great when multiplayer shooting games offer ways to improve and unlock things as you play, and based on what we’ve seen, Highguard looks like it will give players plenty to do.
There are six challenges in total, and they’re quite difficult, particularly at the beginning. You’ll need to get 25 kills in one match and win 20 matches overall – a good set of goals to focus on while exploring Highguard.

How Long Does ‘The Dark Below’ Questline Last In Highguard?
Quests in Highguard don’t last forever—they’re only available for the duration of a single in-game episode.
Highguard calls its content updates ‘Episodes,’ similar to ‘Seasons’ in other ongoing games. Each new Episode will introduce fresh Wardens, Maps, and Weapons, and it looks like we can also expect new Quests to be added.
You have until the end of the first episode to finish The Dark Below. The next episode is planned to begin in February, according to the 2026 Roadmap, but we don’t have a specific release date yet. If you want the rewards from The Dark Below, it’s best to start playing soon, as they won’t be available for long unless you quickly complete the quest.
