In Code Vein 2, players can freely explore a vast world, searching for hidden treasures and difficult bosses within challenging dungeons.
The Cultist Altar is a location within the Sunken City that players can find while exploring the northern part of the area. It’s an outdoor spot with resources, and features a doorway, but no other obvious things to interact with. Here’s a guide to what you can do at the Cultist Altar in Code Vein 2.
What to Do At the Cultist Altar in Code Vein 2
The Cultist Altar is located northeast of Josee’s Outpost. When you arrive, activate the Mistle, but you’ll need to complete a task before you can proceed. After finishing Josee’s quest and returning to the present, go back to MagMell. A cutscene will play, showing a new connection that sends you back to the year 2187. There, you’ll meet Valentin, who will become your companion and give you a new request.
Go to the spot on the map, located southeast of MagMell Island. Inside Shoreline Cavern, you’ll find a temporal rift and a challenging boss fight. After defeating the boss, you’ve completed the task and can return to MagMell to speak with Valentin about the tome. He’ll let you know there are other temporal rifts that need to be closed.
One of the temporal rifts is near the Cultist Altar. Return to the Mistle outside the altar, then go inside to find it. You’ll be able to enter through the fog gate and fight the Biosis Clod boss. This boss is very durable and can sometimes grab you. To maximize damage and stun the boss, concentrate your attacks on the golden tentacles on its back.
You can block some of the boss’s attacks, which will create openings for you to strike back.
Okay, so I finally took down that boss and got the Book of Lost Tome and this cool Formae called Scorched Earth! Now I need to head back to Valentin – he’s got some info about the book. After that, the map shows two more spots I need to check out to finish his whole quest. Sounds like a plan!
