A recent leak suggests that wrestling fans can expect WWE 2K26 on current gaming consoles around March 13th. The WWE 2K series has been a staple for wrestling fans for over 20 years, beginning with the original WWE Smackdown in 2000. After the original developer, THQ, went bankrupt in 2013, Take-Two Interactive stepped in to continue the franchise. If the leak is accurate, fans might be enjoying WWE 2K26 very soon.
2K Sports has announced special editions of WWE 2K26, including versions themed around the Attitude Era, Monday Night War, and King of Kings. While details about what these editions will include haven’t been officially released yet, it’s likely they’ll offer extra content related to the wrestlers and time periods they represent. Pre-orders start on January 30th, and we might learn more about the contents then. However, a recent leak suggests a possible release date for the game itself.
WWE 2k26 Leaks Indicate Current-Gen Release on March 13
According to a leak from Dealabs Magazine, WWE 2K26 is expected to release on March 13th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Insider Gaming confirmed the information, adding that a physical copy will be available for the Nintendo version. While the initial report didn’t mention a PC release, it was later included. This release timeframe aligns with previous statements from Take-Two Interactive. However, this means players with older consoles like the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One may not be able to play the new game, which could disappoint some fans.
As of today, there’s no information about whether WWE 2K26 will be released on older gaming consoles. With marketing starting and the release date reportedly just over a month away, it’s possible those versions won’t exist. This depends on the accuracy of the leaked console list, though. While another source confirmed the Switch 2 release, that isn’t a guarantee. Even though billbil-kun is a reliable source of leaks, their information isn’t always perfect. Until 2K Games or a developer officially confirms details, all WWE 2K26 leaks and rumors should be viewed with skepticism.

While some players might prefer to keep playing on those older consoles, eventually improvements in graphics and gameplay will require leaving them behind. 2K will ultimately have to make that choice, even if it’s not a popular one. We won’t know for sure until 2K releases official details, hopefully when pre-orders start on January 30th. In the meantime, fans are trying to figure out how a leaked campaign featuring CM Punk might fit into the current situation surrounding Vince McMahon.
