Seeing the list of nominees for The Game Awards 2025, I would have been surprised at the absence of Monster Hunter Wilds if you’d shown it to me last year – after my initial excitement about the new Donkey Kong game, of course. Monster Hunter Wilds seemed like a strong contender, but performance problems and lower-than-expected sales compared to Monster Hunter Rise have hurt its chances.

So, we were all expecting an update this fall, like the developers originally planned for their 2025 roadmap. They even pointed out on Discord that fall is almost over! Unfortunately, it looks like that update isn’t happening this fall for Avowed. Bummer, but hopefully it means they’re taking the time to make it really good!
