An employee who worked at Ubisoft for many years says he was suspended without pay after speaking out online about the company’s new policy requiring employees to return to the office.
David Michaud-Cromp, a Ubisoft employee of over 13 years, shared on LinkedIn that the company has given him a three-day suspension without pay as a disciplinary measure.
Michaud-Cromp has been suspended, starting tomorrow, after speaking out about Ubisoft’s policy requiring employees to return to the office. Ubisoft claims his comments violated his obligation to remain loyal to the company.
After TopMob learned that the new requirement for employees to return to the office five days a week was met with strong disapproval, David shared his thoughts on LinkedIn, saying:
Ubisoft is asking employees to return to the office five days a week, claiming it’s to improve teamwork. However, many employees don’t believe this is the real reason and suspect there’s another motive behind the decision.
Michaud-Cromp alleges that these comments led to the three-day suspension.
