Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Part 3 Confirmed for Xbox

Final Fantasy 7 Remake series director has confirmed that Rebirth and Part 3 are coming to Xbox.

Square Enix has recently launched the first part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake on Xbox and Switch 2, and fans are eager to learn when the following games will be available. While reports suggested the next installment, Rebirth, would arrive on Switch 2 and Xbox in 2026, the game’s director has now officially confirmed that versions for Xbox are indeed in development.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Series Director Confirms Xbox Ports for Parts 2 and 3

Naoki Hamaguchi, director of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the game will be coming to Xbox. He expressed his excitement that Xbox players are enjoying the first game and confirmed that both REBIRTH and the final game in the trilogy will also be released on Xbox. Hamaguchi also thanked Sarah Bond and Phil Spencer for their support of the Final Fantasy series.

The director originally announced in September 2025 that the Final Fantasy series would be released on major platforms like PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. This week, they confirmed that both the upcoming game, Rebirth, and the third installment are being developed for the Switch 2, and the gameplay on the Switch 2 will be nearly identical to that on other platforms.

When Will Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Release For Xbox

We know Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Part 3 are coming to Xbox, but we still don’t have a confirmed release date. Recent reports suggest the Switch 2 version might be available this summer, and a trusted source indicates both the Switch 2 and Xbox versions of Rebirth will launch at the same time. If these reports are correct, Xbox players could be playing FF7 Rebirth as early as summer 2026.

The director of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake believes someone new should lead the development of the Final Fantasy 6 Remake. They also say the gameplay for the third part of the FF7 remake project is mostly finished. What do you think about Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth playing the same way on the new Switch 2 console as it does on other platforms?
