Half Sword is a brutal combat game where you fight to survive – only one player will walk away victorious, and battles are messy and violent. It’s designed to let you embrace a savage, medieval fighting style, and it would be even more fun with friends in multiplayer or co-op mode.
It’s surprising to think about, but society is a little more refined now than it was centuries ago. The game Half Sword transports you to a time when deadly duels were commonplace. But the real question is: does Half Sword pit you against human players, or AI opponents?
Can You Play Half Sword In Multiplayer or Co-op?
For now, don’t expect to play Half Sword with friends. The developers, Half Sword Games, have announced that the game doesn’t include co-op or multiplayer features at its release.
TopMob will hand it over to the official Half Sword Discord FAQ to clear this one up:
We know many of you are excited about the idea of multiplayer, especially player-versus-player combat. But creating that with realistic physics in Unreal Engine 5 is incredibly challenging, and this is our first game. For now, we’re concentrating on making the single-player physics really solid, with the goal of providing a deeply engaging experience that players can enjoy for a very long time.
Half Sword Games is dedicated to this project and sees it as something they’ll be working on for a long time. Because of this, they haven’t included multiplayer right away, but they aren’t saying it won’t happen in the future.
Half Sword Multiplayer Release Date
So, the developers told me they’re really aiming to make Half Sword a fantastic game to play with others down the line. That’s the big plan – a really smooth and fun multiplayer experience. I’m excited to see how it turns out!
This game is primarily designed for one player. While it was originally envisioned as a two-player experience, the complex physics and large scope of the game require significant development to make it run smoothly and reliably.
We probably won’t have multiplayer available when the game first comes out. However, we’re planning to work on adding it after release, so it’s likely to be added at some point.
