Xbox Game Pass just got two new games: the action-adventure title ANNO: Mutationem and the unique puzzle game Drop Duchy. Game Pass is popular with gamers because it offers a huge library of games on Xbox, PC, and even mobile devices. Over time, it’s evolved from a simple subscription into a system with different tiers and options for playing on various platforms.
One reason gamers like the subscription service is that it offers different plans at various price points. Even though Xbox Game Pass recently became more expensive, many players still feel they get a good deal with at least one of the available options. The basic Game Pass Essential plan costs $9.99 a month and includes around 50 games plus online multiplayer access. The most comprehensive option, Game Pass Ultimate, gives you access to over 500 games – including new releases – better cloud streaming, and perks like Ubisoft+ Classics and the Fortnite Crew subscription.
Xbox Game Pass Adds 2 More Titles for Subscribers of Multiple Tiers
Xbox Game Pass recently added two new games for subscribers with Ultimate, Premium, or PC plans: ANNO: Mutationem and Drop Duchy. ANNO: Mutationem, created by ThinkingStars, is an action-adventure game set in a cyberpunk world where you play as Ann Flores, a skilled fighter involved in a corporate conspiracy. It combines fast-paced action with exploration and RPG elements, and features a unique mix of 2D and 3D pixel art.
Originally appearing on PlayStation and PC in March 2022, and later on Nintendo Switch, ANNO: Mutationem came to Xbox consoles in late 2023. Players enjoy the game’s unique look, which blends pixel art with 3D graphics, and its compelling story of a future divided by warring groups. You play as Ann, who’s searching for her missing brother and is a master of quick combat. Along the way, she meets a variety of interesting characters, including cyborgs and underground streamers.
If you enjoy playing ANNO: Mutationem, you can expand the experience with the optional Collectors Upgrade Pack. This paid add-on includes two unique outfits – Cinnabar and Emerald – plus three weapons with special visual effects: a light sword, a greatsword, and twin blades. You’ll also get two items to improve your weapons, a digital artbook, and the game’s soundtrack.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers have more than just ANNO: Mutationem to look forward to on January 28th. Drop Duchy, a puzzle game with roguelite elements, originally launched on PC in May 2025. Developed by Sleepy Mill Studio, it’s a deckbuilder where you drop blocks like in Tetris, but instead of clearing lines, you’re building a kingdom. You’ll grow crops, gather resources, train an army, and expand your territory. However, you’ll also need to defend yourself, as enemy forces are trying to do the same, leading to battles at the end of each round.
The Xbox Game Pass version of Drop Duchy is the Complete Edition, giving subscribers free access to two extra content packs. “The Tribe” adds a new group with more building options, and “The North” introduces a Viking-themed faction with new ways to fight. With both packs included, players will be able to choose from five different factions, play with over 110 cards, and complete more than 100 challenges for useful rewards.
