Bloober Team is Teasing a Big Reveal for February 14

Bloober Team recently updated their website, likely to build anticipation for their next game. The site features a countdown ending on Valentine’s Day, a new slogan, and a disturbing sound clip that may offer clues about the game’s story.

Bloober Team, established in 2008, has become a prominent name in horror gaming over the past decade. They initially gained recognition with titles like Layers of Fear, Observer, Blair Witch, and The Medium. However, it was the recent release of Silent Hill 2 Remake and their new IP, Cronos: The New Dawn, that truly solidified their reputation. The Silent Hill 2 Remake demonstrated their impressive ability to recreate a classic game with fidelity, while Cronos: The New Dawn proved they can also create compelling and original experiences.

Bloober Team Is Teasing a Big Valentine’s Day Announcement

Bloober Team sparked curiosity on December 31st by sharing a link to a strange website on their social media, with the message “Dare to peek into the darkness…”. The website, which has a complicated web address, displayed a countdown timer ending on February 14, 2026, at 4 PM Pacific Time / 7 PM Eastern Time (12 AM UTC on February 15th). Fans think this is a teaser for Bloober Team’s next game, and an official announcement will likely coincide with the timer reaching zero.

Bloober Team updated their mysterious website on January 28th. While the red countdown clock remains, a new image of a bleeding red rose has been added above it. Below the rose, a message reads, “Some things never leave the walls. They only learn to wait.” The play button beneath the text also appears to bleed when you move your mouse over it. Clicking the button starts a disturbing audio clip.

Ugh, I’m feeling totally wrecked… like I’m fading out of existence. It’s like these shadowy things are swarming around me, and this huge, terrifying storm has found where I was having a good time. There’s this dark secret hanging over me, and honestly, it feels like everything’s about to end. It’s not looking good, man.

These chilling lines are taken from William Blake’s poem, The Sick Rose. While the poem might have been selected simply for its dark atmosphere, it could also foreshadow the themes explored in Bloober Team’s new game. Though open to various interpretations, The Sick Rose often deals with subjects like sexual desire, lost innocence, and destruction—all common themes in horror games.

Although Bloober Team hasn’t officially revealed their new project yet, a leak suggests a possible title. Earlier this year, a Reddit user shared a link to a trademark filing with the European Union Intellectual Property Office. The filing showed Bloober Team registered the name “Onyx: The Dark Grip” back in September 2024. This could be the game they’re hinting at with their Valentine’s Day countdown, but it might also be for a different project they’re working on.

Konami announced in June 2025 that Bloober Team was developing a remake of the original Silent Hill game. However, recent teasers – images and audio clips – suggest that the game Bloober Team is currently working on isn’t that remake. It’s more probable that it’s either ‘Project M’ or ‘Project F’, both expected to launch in 2026.
