A big winter update has arrived for Heartopia! The Winter Frost Season Event brings new quests, special gameplay features that won’t last forever, and unique items to collect. Plus, a new story is unfolding, focusing on a puzzling illness called the Frostspore Infection.

The Winter Frost Season event in Heartopia runs from January 24th to March 14th, but the first week is a preparation period to help players get acquainted with all the new content. If you’ve started playing and are a little unsure what’s going on, this guide will walk you through everything.

How to Unlock the Winter Frost Season Event

The Winter Frost Season will take place from January 24th to March 14th, 2026, and will reset daily around 6 AM server time. The main event revolves around the Frostspore Infection, a peculiar winter issue causing problems in Heartopia due to unusually cold temperatures. Residents are concerned, animals are suffering, and the Guild is asking for assistance to deal with it.

In this event, you’ll help the town’s people, safeguard animals, and prepare for the harsh winter. The first stage, called the preparation phase, will take place from January 24th to January 31st. To join the Winter Frost Season Prep Event, you need to fulfill two conditions:

  • DG Guild Level 7
  • Completion of the main story quest “The Answer Lies Within”

After you qualify, Atara will contact you as soon as you log in. This begins your first preparation quest and gives you access to the Winter Prep app on your in-game watch.

When it snows, players can shovel snow and build snowmen throughout town – it’s a really cute addition, great for taking pictures! Also, construction signs near Onsen Mountain announce the Ice Skating Dream, a brand-new activity that’s different from your usual hobbies. Players will work together to build a skating rink and then unlock figure skating options.

Winter Frost Prep Phase Explained

The Winter Frost Event is getting ready for launch in two stages. Each stage will bring new goals to complete and prizes to earn.

Phase I: Cold Weather Warning

So, Phase I kicks off on January 24th! I’ll be getting some quests through the Winter Prep app, and honestly, they sound pretty chill. They’re designed to be quick and easy, something I can just do at my own pace – no need to rush through them.

Phase II: Resident Feedback Collection

In Phase II, you’ll focus on collecting feedback from the people of Heartopia. Finishing these tasks will earn you stamps, which you can use to unlock new content later on.
