Does Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Have Quick-Time Events?

As a seasoned Dragon Ball Z fan who’s been following the series since its inception, I must say that Dragon Ball Sparking Zero has truly outdone itself with the introduction of these thrilling quick-time events! The Speed Impact, Power Impact, Crash Impact, and Blast Impact add an exhilarating layer to the combat system that makes every fight feel epic.

In Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, quick-time events occur when there’s a confrontation with your adversary, whether it’s physical combat or energy beams. These encounters are categorized into four types of impacts: speed impact (fast clashes), power impact (strong clashes), crash impact (collisions), and blast impact (explosive clashes).

Speed Impact

In terms of the Speed Battle mechanic, players have the opportunity to engage in this fast-paced, time-sensitive event during exchanges of attacks between fighters. To activate Speed Battle, players should either collide with their opponents using a Dragon Dash (R2/RT + X/A) or when a rush-type attack coincides with a Dragon Dash.

As a gamer, I’ve noticed that Dragon Ball Sparking Zero has two distinct phases: Single Strike and Rapid Strike. In the Single Strike phase, my timing and accuracy determine who gets the upper hand in our quick-time challenge. Then, during Rapid Strike, the speed and precision of my button presses directly influence how much damage I dish out to my opponent.

Power Impact

In Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, players engage in an exciting interactive sequence known as Power Impact when they both throw simultaneously. During this event, players must press multiple buttons corresponding to the power level their character is using at that moment. The closer a player gets to the optimal button combination, the more likely they are to emerge victorious from the encounter.

Crash Impact

In Dragon Ball Sparking Zero’s Crash Impact, an exciting event occurs when both players simultaneously utilize the new movement technique called Step. During this Impact moment, each player is assigned a role: attacker or defender. To triumph in this confrontation, players must input a sequence of actions. If the attacker prevails in this skirmish, the defending player sustains damage. Conversely, if the defender emerges victorious, they successfully shield themselves.

Blast Impact

Lastly, but just as important, is the famous quick-time event in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, often called beam clashes. When both players simultaneously launch two ranged Blast attacks at each other, a Blast Impact occurs. To prevail in this situation, players should quickly press one button while rapidly tapping others. The victor of this exchange inflicts significant damage on their opponents.
