New Backyard Baseball Game Coming This Summer

Get ready to kid the kids to the vacant lot. A new Backyard Baseball game is coming this year.

Playground Productions just revealed that a new Backyard Baseball game is coming out in Summer 2026. This marks the first new installment in the Backyard Sports series since the mobile game released in 2015. If released on consoles, it would be the first major platform release since 2010’s Rookie Rush.

We don’t know much about the game yet, but Playground Productions promises to share more details soon.

While fans wait for more updates, Playground has launched a new animated short, “Backyard Sports: The Animated Special,” on YouTube. The almost 12-minute video stars well-known actors like Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Ego Nwodim, Donald Faison, and Adam Pally.

The popular 90s video game series “Backyard Sports” is back in a new animated special from Playground Productions! This time, star player Stephanie “Bubbles” Morgan is in trouble – she’s lost her lucky bubble gum and can’t play without it. With only half an hour before the big game, the Backyard Kids race against the clock on a frantic mission to find it and save their season.
