Tomodachi Life Sequel Limits Image-Sharing, Expands Inclusivity

Nintendo issues a statement on image-sharing features in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream.

Nintendo recently revealed more about the upcoming Tomodachi Life sequel for Nintendo Switch with a dedicated presentation. They announced the game will be released on April 16th and showed off the customization options, letting players create unique Miis and design their own island.

Nintendo has announced some restrictions on sharing images from the new game.

Nintendo Is Committed to Creating Experiences That Are Welcoming for Everyone

After the Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo announced on their official blog that they’ve limited some image-sharing features to help keep the online environment safe and positive for everyone.

We know players often enjoy these spontaneous moments, but we also understand that seeing things without the full context can sometimes lead to misinterpretations or change how the game was meant to be experienced.

Nintendo has updated its Tomodachi Life game to be more inclusive. Players can now create characters who don’t identify with a specific gender, and characters can date anyone they choose, regardless of gender. This change came after feedback from players who asked for more representation, and following a promise from Nintendo in 2014 to create more inclusive games.

The recently released trailer for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream reveals a wide range of relationship outcomes for its characters. Some will face repeated heartbreak, while others will unexpectedly find love – even over a shared interest in monster trucks! It seems everyone’s journey to happiness will be unique.
