These clues are divided into three categories, allowing you to learn about the mountain’s past in 1952, the fate of the Washington twins, Hannah and Beth, and the identity of the tormentor who menaces the group of friends.
The connections between everything are crucial, and these hints will enhance your friends’ chances of making it through the night. Some can be discovered just by progressing in the narrative, but others may require additional effort to locate. As you search for clues, keep in mind that some controls allow you to rotate them for a better view. Certain hints won’t register as found unless you examine them closely.
Should you ever find yourself at a loss for a hint, simply search for a faint, small, white light glowing in the vicinity. This glow often signifies an object or feature that you can engage with.

Chapter 1 Clues In Until Dawn
In the initial chapter of ‘Until Dawn’, there’s just a single hint to discover, and it’s available when you’re controlling Sam. Upon reaching the cable car and encountering Chris, search for a wanted notice on the wall of the small structure nearby. As Chris leads you around the back to display a gun, this clue will be located directly on your left as you follow him. This hint is related to the ‘Mystery Man’ plotline.
Chapter 2 Clues In Until Dawn
Chapter 2 contains a total of 14 different clues.
Axe Holder Clue
Once you reach the lodge and Chris is with you, glance along the lodge wall as you follow Josh to discover a means of entry. Here, there’s an empty axe holder, serving as one of the clues left by the Mystery Man.
Newspaper Fragment Clue
Inside the lodge when Chris is all by himself, search for the two exits from the attached garage. Start with the left one initially, and upon passing through it, you’ll encounter a newspaper scrap on the shelf of that specific room.
Family Portrait Clue
After exiting the garage, look for this picture on the wall in the hallway.
Answerphone Message Clue
Upon stepping into the lodge, search for an archway positioned to the left of the kitchen entrance. Passing through this doorway will lead you to a room where you’ll discover a message on an answerphone that provides additional insight regarding the Mystery Man on the mountain in Until Dawn.
Prom Night Photo Clue
When you walk past the kitchen door, look for this photo on the table right next to it.

As a gamer, I’ll head down the stairs alongside Chris, keeping an eye out for a particular light. You know, that one just before we step into the library. Once inside, I’ll veer to my left and spot it on the floor, right there in the room’s entrance.

Fortunately, these clues are clearly evident since they form an integral part of the narrative. You can discover them by assuming control over Chris and locating the hidden door in the library.
Native American Letter Clue
As Chris guides you, find the self-opening door following the trail of clues. Upon reaching the end of the hallway, glance to your left where a petite table resides. The desired letter can be found on that table.
Chapter 4 Clues In Until Dawn
In Chapter 4 of Until Dawn, much like Chapter 1, there’s just a single hint to uncover. While you’re guiding Chris in his search for Ashley, follow the snowy trail until it splits. Take the left branch. Be careful as you reach this area because there might be a jump scare. Once you pass that, you’ll see a pig’s head clearly on the ground.

Chapter 5 contains 16 clues for you to find in Until Dawn.
Administration Notes Clue
As I take on the role of Mike, prepare to step into the dusty, aged Sanatorium perched high atop the mountain. Once inside, keep an eye out for a quaint little table nestled beside the main entrance – that’s where you’ll discover the valuable administration notes you seek.
It’s possible that you’ll have to retrace your steps a little before locating them, as a video scene will start as soon as you step into the building. Just wait for the video to finish before searching for the hidden clue.
Clocking-In Cards Clue
As you make your way into the admin wing, veer to your left and search for a safe. You’ll find a wooden board standing nearby, which you should lift and utilize to unlock the safe. The clock-in cards can be found within.
Broken Camera Clue
To your left, as you exit the room containing the safe, you’ll spot a damaged camera resting on a modest collection of drawers. This location is diagonally across from the doorway you must pass through to continue progressing.
Old Newspaper Clue
As you exit the administrative section, locate an office with a worn-out appearance down the hallway that lies before you. Enter this office and search for an aged newspaper resting on a nearby desk.
Medical Notes Clue
As you make your way towards the stairs leading to the morgue, keep an eye out for another rundown office. Once you’ve entered it, search the desk inside for any medical records or notes.
Restraining Chair Clue
After making it to the morgue, seize the machete, then proceed to your right towards a smaller room. Some green drapes can be drawn aside to reveal a restraining chair hidden behind them.
Telegram About Miners Clue
Go back to where you found the machete near the bed and then proceed through the building. At some point, you will notice a shadow that resembles a wolf darting across the hallway up ahead, indicating the path forward. Before venturing into the hallway, search for a small room to your right. Inside this room, you’ll find a miner’s telegram on a table.
Strange Skull Clue
After I’ve navigated past that eerie hand protruding from the table, I suggest you take a peek at the shelves within the morgue chamber. There, you might come across an odd-looking skull nestled among them.
Name Tag Clue
On the lengthy wall of the morgue, there’s just one cold compartment you can open. Inside this compartment, you’ll discover a name badge.
Death Certificate Clue
On the opposite side of the room, there are two additional refrigerated rooms you can access. One of them holds the security tag necessary for your progress, and the other contains a hint related to a death certificate.
Clippings Wall Clue
Once I’ve crossed paths with the wolf and stepped into the chapel, cast your gaze to the right to spot an open gateway. In a cozy little nook hidden there, you’ll find a pile of wall clipping debris.
Cigar Box Clue
Right in the heart of the chapel, there’s a quaint little table with a solitary cigar nestled within a cigar box. This setup is near some comfortable seats.
Miner Rescue Photo Clue
As you exit the chapel, prior to going down the lengthy staircase, glance towards the right and behind you, where you’ll find a miner rescue photograph situated in that spacious area.
Axe Clue (Unmissable)
Under Matt’s guidance, he’ll stroll with Emily towards the cable car station, aiming to discover an escape route. In the narrative, you’ll come across an axe stuck in the door.
Beth’s Phone Clue
Once you pass the walkway exterior and arrive at a sizable gap atop the hill, take a left to discover a wooden-roofed bridge. Make your way to and across this bridge, and you’ll find Beth’s phone concealed beneath some of the wooden slats.
Business Card Clue
After you’ve managed Sam’s exit from the bath, follow the balloons to guide you down to the main floor. Then, make your way towards the lodge’s entrance (front door). Until Dawn‘s Chapter 6 contains nine clues to discover.
Hannah’s Poster Clue
Once you get to the peak of the ranger tower, Emily, search for Hannah’s lost poster in one of the lockers inside the room.
Beth’s Poster Clue
After turning on the power supply at the ranger tower outside, locate the printer and engage with it to produce a copy of Beth’s lost poster.
Hidden Camera Clue
When you regain control over Ashley, this clue is hidden. Once you’ve inspected the dollhouse and pass through the self-opening door (be cautious of any sudden surprises), look for the camera concealed among some crates on your right side.
Lightbulb Catalog Clue
In the same area where you found the camera, look for the lightbulb catalog on a long table.

To continue at the hidden hotel, spend some more time there. You’ll eventually discover the fabricated news papers. Keep an eye out for a room with two columns, it’s right after Chris and Ashley finish their conversation. The newspapers will be located in the far corner of this space.
Batteries & Timers Clue
Immediately upon picking up the newspapers, you’ll proceed through a door and notice some peculiar electric-like sounds emanating nearby. Turn to your left to discover the source – a collection of batteries that have been set on timers causing the strange noises.
Hooks & Chains Clue
Upon stepping into what appears to be the hotel’s kitchen, you may encounter rather unsettling sights. One such sight is a row of hooks and chains lining the wall, situated right beside the kitchen entrance.
Dead Pig Clue
After examining the hooks and chains, glance to your right to spot a pig that appears to have been killed, suspended from a chain hook.
Photos Of Friends Clue
The hint is positioned directly in front of you as soon as you step into the kitchen. Keep an eye out for a tiny bulletin board adorned with images of all the characters from the game Until Dawn.
Chapter 7 Clues In Until Dawn
Chapter 7 contains 16 clues to find.
Death Machine Plans Clue
After Sam manages to flee from the Psycho, upon exiting the tunnel, glance to your left (which will be behind you). There, you’ll spot a flap on a corkboard that you’ll need to lift up to uncover the blueprints for the deadly machine.
Josh’s Cellphone Clue
You would have now entered what seems to be the Psycho’s workshop with Sam. Look for Josh’s Cellphone on the farthest metal shelves, in between some boxes.
Psychiatric Report Clue
Straight to the right of where you found Josh’s phone, locate a desk that has a drawers you can open. The report is kept inside.
Remembrance Board Clue
As you approach the exit at the front of the room, you’ll notice a Memorial Board dedicated to the twins situated nearby.
Voice Recordings Clue
When you notice a door that allows Sam to peek and observe the actions of the Psycho, search for voice recordings situated beyond the short flight of steps.
Dummy With Sam’s Clothes Clue (Unmissable)
This is the identical figure that Chris and Ashley spotted previously. Now, Sam has the opportunity to examine it as a potential clue. It’s hard to overlook it once you step into the room.
Video Camera Clue
Right next to the dummy, you’ll also find a video camera on a tripod.
Miner Photo Clue
In the mines, when you’re controlling Emily, you’ll discover something by first freeing a mining cart that will shatter the door ahead and allow progression. However, prior to doing so, don’t forget to open a nearby green chest, which houses this photograph.
Clocking-In Machine Clue
Once you pass through the door and board the mining cart, step into the next room. You’ll find the Clocking-In Machine on the opposite side, which is situated on the left side of the ladder you will ascend to access the electrical box located upstairs.
Miner’s Family Photo Clue
Immediately following your descent through the bone-filled tunnel on your right side, you’ll spot a minor collapse or crack – it’s quite small. Inside there lies a compact lockbox holding a cherished family photograph.
Hannah’s Glasses Clue
Just beside the frosty precipice lies a pile of splintered, decaying wood planks. Hannah’s spectacles are hidden among these pieces.
Tattoo Photo Clue
You can find a picture of Hannah’s tattoo on some cans (possibly oil cans) arranged right across from where she keeps her eyeglasses, in the same room.
Marks On The Rock Clue
Right beside the shattered wooden planks near where I found Hannah’s spectacles, you might discover some heavy metal sheets propped up against a sizable stone. Give those sheets a nudge to reveal any markings on the rock underneath.
Beth’s Cross Clue
As you exit the cave, keeping the clues behind you, veer off to your right instead of going through the rock archway. You’ll find yourself in a narrow, often overlooked spot. At the end of this secluded area, you’ll come across Beth’s cross.
Hannah’s Locket Clue
Before exiting through the gate towards the elevator room, keep walking straight until you reach a limit. You will discover Hannah’s locket on top of some barrels filled with oil. However, don’t forget to give it a good shake so that it opens up, allowing the clue to be properly registered as found.
Beth’s Head Clue (Unmissable)
Following the discovery of the locket and the opening of its metal compartment, a cutscene will unfold where Beth’s face becomes visible, and her appearance will serve as an immediate clue.

Chapter 8 of Until Dawn contains only two clues to find.
Romantic Post Card Clue
Upon discovering the clue, you’ll continue your role as Emily. Once the stranger knocks her down and gives her the flare, search for the fallen location, which is a run-down shack. Inside, you’ll find the postcard.
Intro, Cannibalism, History, Combat, & Bite Clues

Once you push past the gate and descend more stairs while chasing the wolf, veer left before proceeding ahead. There’s a whole new area waiting to be discovered here. Start by searching for a room situated on the left side of the hallway that houses an antique camera. Examine it closely to locate the film reel.
Case Study Dossier Clue
As you proceed along this hallway, you’ll come across a room on your right. In that room, there’s a desk where you can engage in some interaction. You’ll discover the case study dossier there.
Suicide Note Clue
In the room containing the dossier, search for wooden panels that let light pass through towards the end. Go through them, then break the lock on the door to discover a corpse with a message attached.
Chapter 10 Clues In Until Dawn
