Dragon Ball Super: 8 New Characters Introduced in the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga

Dragon Ball fans have been eagerly awaiting this news for a long time! The Beerus Saga is getting a remastered version, and even better, the Dragon Ball Super anime is coming back with new episodes, starting with the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga.

I’m still anticipating the animation of what a lot of us Super fans think is one of the series’ strongest storylines! While it’ll be a bit before we see it, now’s a great time to get acquainted with all the new characters introduced in the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga. I’m really excited to see them brought to life!

Esca

We first saw Esca briefly during the fight with Kid Buu as one of many Namekians, but he wasn’t identified at the time. Later, in the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, he’s developed as a character. Esca is now the new Elder Moori’s successor, despite still being quite young.

During the battle against Moro, Esca finds himself in the middle of the fight between Goku and Vegeta. Moro almost defeats him, but Vegeta manages to save him. Esca uses his healing powers to help Goku and Vegeta recover, and they become friends. Later, Cranberry makes him summon Porunga, but Good Buu steps in to protect him once more.

Goichi

Goichi appears late in the story arc and has a minor role. He’s introduced as the story moves from the Galactic Prisoner Saga to the Granolah the Survivor Saga, and he leads Goichi’s Army. He’s responsible for obtaining Seven-Three and the original soldiers.

Goichi doesn’t have a big role currently, but including him in the anime could hint at the upcoming Granolah arc. Picture this: the final episode of the Galactic Patrol Saga shows Goichi on his ship, an alarm goes off, and his guards are defeated by a mysterious fighter with green eyes and wavy hair.

The Macareni Gang

The Macareni Gang is a small group of criminals led by Pasta Macareni, the oldest of three siblings – including Penne and Ghetti Macareni. Despite their pasta-themed names, they aren’t particularly remarkable.

This group has a history with the Galactic Patrol, having been captured by Merus before. After being released by Noro and Parunga, they join his Moro Corps. They travel to Earth looking for Sky Gold, but are defeated by Piccolo. Before being fully subdued, they send a signal that brings more members of the Moro Corps to Earth.

The Galactic Bandit Brigade

Dragon Ball has featured many villains who threatened the entire world, so a simple group of thieves isn’t very intimidating. The Galactic Bandit Brigade are a real problem for the Galactic Patrol – they’re surprisingly skilled criminals who can challenge most Patrol members, with Merus being a notable exception.

This group of criminals starts the story of the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga. Their capture, and what happens when their leader meets Moro, is what allows Moro to break free. They aren’t very strong compared to Goku and Vegeta, and mostly act as easy opponents while Moro causes chaos.

Saganbo

Saganbo, the leader of the Galactic Bandit Brigade, isn’t particularly impressive – much like the rest of his crew. He is surprisingly tough for someone of his abilities, but even that doesn’t make him stand out.

Saganbo becomes incredibly powerful after absorbing Moro’s magic, making him a surprisingly difficult opponent. He’s able to fight effectively against Androids 17 and 18, Piccolo, and Gohan, but this power comes with a terrible cost.

Seven-Three

Seven-Three isn’t a standout character, but his unique ability will make him a challenging foe. As one of the original Soldiers, his Copy Ability is remarkably versatile, making him a dangerous opponent throughout the series.

He can copy the abilities and fighting skills of anyone he touches on the back of the neck, but the effect lasts for a maximum of 30 minutes. He can only hold onto the powers of three different people at any given time. Despite this limitation, this ability makes Seven-Three, and later Moro, incredibly dangerous opponents for our heroes.

Merus

Merus is a skilled and enigmatic member of the Galactic Patrol, serving as a top operative. He’s a key ally to Goku and Vegeta during their battle against Moro, playing a significant part in the story.

Merus proves to be a valuable ally even when they’re not fighting, significantly helping Goku train and become more skilled with Ultra Instinct. While Goku and Vegeta are the main heroes who defeat Moro, Merus’ help is essential to their success.

Moro

Moro is a compelling villain and easily one of the most original challenges Goku and Vegeta have ever encountered, not just in Dragon Ball Super, but throughout the entire series. After being trapped for millions of years, he proves to be a massive threat, and the saga demonstrates exactly why.

Moro is a powerful magic user with a distinct skillset, setting him apart from typical villains. He’s known as the “Planet-Eater” because he can drain energy from all living creatures, which will create serious trouble for our heroes and the planets they’re trying to protect. Many fans believe Moro is the greatest villain in the Super series, and the upcoming anime will show everyone why.
