As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent navigating the sprawling landscapes of Hyrule, I must say that the Eternal Forest in “Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom” is a labyrinthine delight. It’s one of those places that seems to defy logic and map-reading skills, but once you figure out the route, it becomes an exhilarating challenge.
Following the accomplishment of the “Lands of the Goddesses” quest and defeating the Lanayru Temple, Eldin Temple, and Faron Temple dungeons, Zelda encounters Null and is led to the Eternal Forest with an intent to halt the Echo version of herself. The Eternal Forest, a recurring forest veiled in mist within the Legend of Zelda series, fortunately offers a path that’s not overly confusing for Link to navigate.
Upon arriving at this specific spot, players engaged in the main quest for “Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom” will encounter a fresh objective within the area: energize six Eternal Forest pedestal positions to uncover the path to the Ancient Ruin and Echo Zelda. This tutorial outlines how to locate the Eternal Forest position, as well as where each of the six Eternal Forest pedestals are hidden within the mist-enshrouded (and map-disabling) Eternal Forest realm.
Eternal Forest Route
As a gamer, I’d put it like this: The Eternal Forest lies hidden north of Hyrule Town, tucked between the chilly heights of Holy Mount Lanayru and the fiery Eldin Volcano. To find my way there, you should traverse the foothills that lead to Mount Hebra, northwest of the Hyrule Castle dungeon area. Once you reach the foot of Mount Hebra, look for a gap in the trees, nearly directly west of the Northern Sanctum – one of the spots where the Acorn Gathering minigame is found.
As a gamer, I’d say: Right at the entrance of the Eternal Forest, there’s a notable marker – a Waypoint. Once you step in, the World Map goes blurry, the tunes change to something eerie, and all of a sudden, misty veils descend, making the forest feel like a labyrinth.
After obtaining the three Goddess’ Sanctions in Eldin, Lanayru, and Faron, proceed by entering the Eternal Forest from its western side. Once inside, make a turn to your right and advance northward.
In this spacious region, proceed towards the northwest direction. Then, navigate your way through a passage heading northwards. You’ll discover the Eternal Forest Waypoint in this manner.
Once you’ve advanced your main storyline far enough that you need to venture into the Eternal Forest, you’ll likely encounter General Wright here to continue your journey. However, if you haven’t reached this stage of the main quest, all you’ll see in this open space is a peculiar stone symbol and a pedestal instead.
All Pedestal Locations In Eternal Forest
Stepping past the Eternal Forest, as an enthusiast of Echoes of Wisdom, you’ll come across a massive stone tablet standing opposite an empty plinth. This tablet bears six vacant indentations, and it is only by activating the locations of these six pedestals scattered throughout the Eternal Forest that Zelda can unlock the path to the Ancient Ruins.
To set a pedestal in motion, position an Ancient Orb atop it. Near the stone slab, you’ll find instructions on how to summon the Ancient-Orb Echo. Use this echo on each pedestal to trigger it and illuminate the corresponding mark on the slab.
Each stand in the Eternal Forest where the Echoes of Wisdom is placed corresponds to its position within the pyramid of slots on the tablet. The first one stands opposite the Tablet, while the other two are centrally located within the forest. Lastly, all three remaining locations are positioned at the southern edge of the Eternal Forest.
- The first Eternal Forest pedestal location is opposite the large stone tablet
- The second Eternal Forest pedestal location is on a ledge in the right-center of the forest
- The third Eternal Forest pedestal location is hidden in a corner behind some grass in the bottom-right of the first
- The fourth Eternal Forest pedestal location is next to a tree at the bottom-center of the area
- The fifth Eternal Forest pedestal location is hidden on a high ledge in the bottom-left area of the forest
- The sixth Eternal Forest pedestal location is hidden behind a Deku Baba plant in the left-center of the forest
Feel free to gather these items at your own pace, however, following a clockwise route is generally the quickest way to trigger each pedestal in the Eternal Forest. Keep an eye out for adversaries as you traverse, then return to the tablet after activating all six.
In this iteration of the series’ famed Lost Woods locale, your journey has come to an end somewhat quickly. Upon finishing the Eternal Forest in “Echoes of Wisdom”, Zelda will tread a newly unveiled path ahead, encountering a familiar figure, exploring the Ancient Ruins, and battling against the Echo Zelda adversary.
