In Code Vein 2, players will encounter areas that require keys or specific actions to access. Bureau Castle is one such location, and unlocking it involves completing a few necessary steps first.

With so much else to explore in the game, players often wonder why the castle is initially inaccessible. This guide details how to unlock the castle and what awaits inside in Code Vein 2.

How to Enter the Bureau Castle in Code Vein 2

Once you’ve beaten Josee in the Sunken City, you can continue exploring that area or move on to other parts of the game. The Bureau Castle, which is northwest of the Sunken City, unlocks after you’ve progressed quite a bit in the main storyline.

This place isn’t essential to the game, and you can skip it if you want. However, finding it will unlock one of the possible endings.

After finishing Josee’s story, go to the Undead Forest and play through Holly’s story. Just like with Josee, you’ll need to travel to the past to free the hero’s cocoon and then defeat the boss in the present. Finally, complete Holly’s Fading Bond.

This quest to strengthen your bond isn’t very lengthy, but the bosses you’ll face can be tough and may require several tries and a good plan to defeat. Begin by visiting the Ruined Town and Sanatorium after speaking with Monica. In each of these places, you’ll encounter a strong enemy that will drop a piece of Camillo’s remnants. Once you’ve collected both remnants, go back to the fading bond and interact with it to travel to the past.

Previously, you needed to speak with Holly and complete the Memory Realm sequence, including defeating the monster there. After that, you’ll alter the history of Undead Forest, which will unlock Josee’s storyline. Don’t worry, all of these steps are essential for progressing to the Bureau Castle.

You can now enter the Sanatorium and get the glowing item. Take it to the outpost to travel back in time. After completing that section and returning, head to the Hill Overlooking Clock Tower and go southeast to find a girl who will give you the key to the Underground Shelter.

Okay, so I just finished a section and it sent me back to an earlier part to watch a cutscene. Then, I finally got the go-ahead to check out the Bureau Castle! It’s pretty cool inside, and I had to fight a really tough boss – a pair of them, actually. After that, I could explore the castle if I wanted, but honestly, there wasn’t much to do except find a single ‘Regional Pathos’ to interact with.

That’s everything inside the castle, but you can find a Golden Nectar just outside the main entrance. You might also encounter one of Jadwiga’s helpers who has a variety of items for sale.
