The upcoming Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol anime will bring some of the most exciting battles from the Dragon Ball Super manga to life. While fans are still enjoying the re-told Beerus saga this year, many manga readers are especially excited to finally see what’s considered one of the best story arcs from Super animated.
In the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Goku and Vegeta battle a powerful, ancient enemy capable of destroying planets. The danger is immense, and the villain, Moro, is a formidable opponent who really challenges our heroes. This saga showcases some amazing and powerful attacks, though some are more successful than others. Here’s a rundown of the most impressive techniques used during the story.
Super Electric Strike
Android 17 and 18 became much more important in the Tournament of Power than they had been throughout most of the series. While they were originally presented as being as powerful as Super Saiyan Goku, Vegeta, and Trunks, they were overshadowed by Cell and ultimately became less significant, similar to many other characters.
While not as powerful as they were during the Tournament of Power, Androids 17 and 18 still demonstrate impressive strength in the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga. Their combined attack, the Super Electric Strike, involves charging a huge energy blast in both hands and quickly attacking their opponent, creating an X-shaped explosion. They use this against Moro, but he withstands the powerful blast with ease.
Copy Ability
Seven-Three’s Copy Ability isn’t very powerful by itself, but it can be incredibly strong depending on which fighter it copies from. It lets the user replicate another fighter’s moves and skills, though there are some limitations.
This technique lets the user copy the abilities of others by touching the back of their neck. However, they can only store up to three abilities at a time, and each copied skill lasts for thirty minutes. Depending on the ability copied, this can result in incredibly powerful techniques, potentially turning someone weak like Seven-Three into a major opponent.
Masenko Beam Cannon
The Masenko Beam Cannon is a powerful team attack used by Piccolo and Gohan. It’s a combination of Gohan’s Masenko and Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon, delivering a devastating blast when they both focus their energy on a single target.
Their strategy worked really well against Seven-Three, clearly hurting the android. The attack started like a normal Masenko, but then Piccolo added his Special Beam Cannon, firing it right after Gohan. The two beams combined, creating one huge, powerful blast.
Galick Beam
The Galick Gun is a signature attack for Vegeta. While he’s developed many different versions of it, the Galick Beam is one he hasn’t used very often.
Vegeta reintroduced the attack during the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga. He initially used it to obliterate a tree thrown by Moro, and later a more powerful version, enhanced by Spirit Control, against a bandit named Yuzun. Eventually, Moro learned and copied the technique, employing it against Androids 17 and 18.
Fire and Flames
I’ve noticed a unique ability called Fire and Flames. It originally appeared with Moro, and we see it again during the Granolah the Survivor Saga. What sets it apart from a lot of other techniques is that it’s actually a form of magic, not something else.
Moro, and others like him, can harness the energy of a planet to create incredibly powerful and dangerous flames. They can then direct these flames at their enemies. This ability lasts as long as the planet has energy, posing a threat not only to opponents but to the planet itself.
Forced Spirit Fission
In the next part of the Dragon Ball story, Vegeta will heavily utilize a powerful technique called Forced Spirit Fission. He learns this skill on the planet Yardrat, where Goku previously mastered Instant Transmission, and it will be crucial in his fight against Moro.
Forced Spirit Fission lets someone control a target’s energy, pulling it away and using it for their own purposes. Considering Moro can absorb energy, this ability could be very helpful in battling him. However, the user first needs to injure their target before they can fully utilize Forced Spirit Fission’s power.
Ultimate Kamehameha
Gohan’s Ultimate Kamehameha is a powerful attack that’s been effective throughout the series. However, it hasn’t been as consistently successful in Super as you might expect for such a strong move.
Gohan launches an attack on Seven-Three, surprising him. It briefly seems like Gohan has the upper hand, but Seven-Three uses Moro’s abilities to absorb the blow.
Instant Kamehameha
Goku’s Instant Kamehameha isn’t his most powerful attack, but it’s definitely one of the most interesting. It blends his famous Kamehameha wave with the incredible speed of his Instant Transmission ability.
It was incredible! Goku unleashed the attack while in his Super Saiyan Blue form, and the power boost was insane. Luckily, Gohan had Moro perfectly contained with his Galactic Donut, giving Goku the opening he needed. He actually managed to blow off Moro’s arm with the hit! But Moro’s tough – he recovered quickly and pushed Goku back. Still, it was a huge moment!
