Battlestate Games has announced the first crossover event for their hit game, Escape From Tarkov. The game will be teaming up with Escape From Duckov, a parody game based on Tarkov, and both games are getting new content soon.
After eight years of development and a strict no-crossover policy, Escape From Tarkov is finally collaborating with another game: Escape From Duckov. Escape From Duckov is a well-regarded extraction shooter that playfully references Tarkov, making a crossover feel like a natural fit. The two games have been hinting at this collaboration for weeks, so the announcement wasn’t a surprise – it was just a matter of time.
Escape From Tarkov Finally Reveals Duckov Crossover
Battlestate Games and Team Soda have officially announced a crossover between Escape From Tarkov and Escape From Duckov. Both games will receive new content as part of the collaboration, though details about what’s coming to Escape From Tarkov are still unknown. Team Soda released a trailer showing that Escape From Duckov will get a new map where players can battle characters from Escape From Tarkov. The crossover event starts in Escape From Duckov on February 10th, but it’s unclear if that date applies to the Escape From Tarkov content as well. It’s also unknown if these additions will be permanent or temporary.
It’s a little surprising that Escape From Tarkov didn’t add crossovers until now. These kinds of collaborations are now common in many online games, especially titles like Call of Duty and Battlefield. Crossovers can be divisive, as some players feel they ruin the realistic feel of a game when characters or items from other franchises are added. Escape From Tarkov is known for its dedicated and immersive player base, so it will be interesting to see how they react to the new Escape From Tarkov x Escape From Duckov crossover.
When Escape From Tarkov first launched on Steam last year in early access, it received a lot of negative reviews. The game struggled to improve its reputation, eventually reaching a “Mixed” rating. However, the developers, Battlestate Games, have worked hard to turn things around, and Escape From Tarkov is now doing well. With the game officially released, they aren’t stopping there and plan to add a lot of new content throughout the year. Considering the growing popularity of extraction shooter games like ARC Raiders, this could be a huge year for Escape From Tarkov if it can attract new players. It’s a very challenging game and won’t appeal to everyone, but those who enjoy it are very dedicated.
