Okay, so everyone’s hyped for Resident Evil Requiem coming out on February 27th, and there’s been a lot of talk about Ada Wong and Chris Redfield possibly being in the game. Well, a really reliable leaker just said that’s actually a fake. We already know Leon S. Kennedy is coming back, and he’ll be alongside the new character Grace Ashcroft. I know a lot of us were expecting to see Ada and Chris, considering their history with Leon and how important Chris is to the series, but apparently we shouldn’t get our hopes up for them showing up in Requiem.
It took Capcom a while to officially announce Leon as a playable character in Resident Evil Requiem, especially since rumors and details about his role had already spread online. Capcom likely wanted to give the character Grace enough attention and build excitement before confirming Leon’s appearance. While Leon and Grace are both central to Resident Evil Requiem, fans were hoping for surprise cameos from other familiar faces. However, a well-known Resident Evil leaker has suggested that the rumored returns of two popular characters won’t be happening.
Resident Evil Requiem Ada Wong and Chris Redfield Rumor is “Fake”
After a false rumor started circulating that he was the source, Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem debunked a claim that Ada Wong and Chris Redfield would be in Resident Evil Requiem. He firmly stated he doesn’t think either character will play a significant role in the game. He pointed out that the game’s director has already confirmed Chris won’t be included, though he allowed for the possibility of a brief mention or Easter egg. While Dusk Golem has heard hints about a surprise appearance from a veteran Resident Evil character in a potential DLC, he insists, based on his information, that neither Ada nor Chris will be in Requiem itself.
Even reliable sources sharing information about a game are still just rumors until the developers officially confirm details. Right now, we only know for sure who has been confirmed for Resident Evil Requiem, and that Chris Redfield won’t be appearing. However, the game’s story and setting leave room for other characters to show up, so fans should keep an eye out for more news before it releases.
Following the stories of Ethan Winters in Resident Evil 7 and Village, fans who have been with the series for a long time are eager to see more familiar faces return in Requiem, beyond just Leon S. Kennedy. It’s still unclear if those hopes will be met, but the confirmed involvement of the Umbrella Corporation in Resident Evil Requiem has many optimistic that the game will offer a significant return to the series’ roots, with more than just Leon and Raccoon City. Resident Evil Requiem will be released on February 27 for Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
