Dabura Karaba is an incredibly powerful character in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. He first appeared in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, a sequel taking place 68 years after the Shinjuku Shodown, even though he wasn’t present in the original story. Initially presented as a villain when he and other Simurians first arrived on Earth, Dabura’s story unfolded to reveal he was simply trying to safeguard his people and find a place where they could live peacefully alongside humans.

After a series of events, Dabura ended up fighting Yuka Okkotsu, a powerful human, who used the immense power of Mahoraga. During this fight, Dabura unleashed his two most potent cursed techniques: Murderous Intent and Light. These techniques are considered among the strongest in the entire Jujutsu Kaisen universe, and the battle with Okkotsu – the Divine General of the Ten Shadows Technique – truly showcased their incredible strength.

Dabura Karaba is exceptionally powerful, possessing two unique cursed techniques and standing as the strongest member of the Deskunte tribe within the Simurian race. His first ability, Murderous Intent, is a mysterious power that manifests intent as a physical force, allowing him to harm opponents simply through sheer willpower. While incredibly strong, the full extent of this ability remains largely unknown, even to fans. The Deskunte tribe alone truly understands the core principles of Murderous Intent, as it’s incomprehensible to those outside their group.

Dabura possesses two unique abilities: one is called Light, and the other is a powerful, physical manifestation of murderous intent. This intent is a technique inherited by the Deskunte Tribe, and it’s beyond human comprehension.

Dabura’s signature cursed technique is called Light, allowing him to freely create and control light. He can unleash rapid-fire beams of light or form solid light pillars to attack his opponents. Because these attacks travel at the speed of light, they are almost impossible to avoid, and usually defeat enemies with a single blow. This power is the reason Dabura is considered the strongest member of the Deskunte tribe, and he’s never faced an opponent who could truly challenge him. Even Dura, the most powerful of the Rumelians, couldn’t withstand Dabura in battle.

Dabura finally met a truly challenging opponent in Mahoraga. Mahoraga quickly learned to counter Dabura’s light-based attacks, and no matter what Dabura tried – whether it was piercing him with light pillars or bombarding him with beams – Mahoraga consistently adapted and eventually overcame his powers.

Dabura experienced genuine fear for the first time while battling Mahoraga, realizing he might actually be defeated. Mahoraga quickly adapted to Dabura’s signature light-based attacks, forcing Dabura to exceed his usual power levels – and leading to his first significant power increase.

Dabura Can Move At Sublight Speeds

Dabura could move incredibly fast – almost at the speed of light – by using his special ability on himself. This gave him such enhanced physical strength and speed that he was sometimes able to keep pace with and strike as quickly as light travels.

Dabura moved with incredible speed and struck Mahoraga with such force that part of Tokyo crumbled, but even that devastating blow couldn’t defeat it.

Because Mahoraga quickly adapts to straightforward attacks, he only needed to be hit once to understand and counter light-speed attacks, allowing the Divine General to reappear. This pushed Dabura to become an even more powerful sorcerer, leading him to develop the ability to undo his own cursed technique.

Dabura Can Use Cursed Technique Reversal To Create Darkness

In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 20, Dabura discovered how to change the direction of cursed energy within his body, allowing him to use Cursed Technique Reversal. This is comparable to how Gojo first unlocked his Red technique.

I’m absolutely fascinated by Gojo’s abilities! He mastered Blue and the basic Infinity so early, even in high school, it was incredible. But Red was a real challenge for him – it demanded so much more focus and twice the cursed energy. It was during his fight with Toji that everything clicked! He unlocked reverse cursed technique, which then unlocked cursed technique reversal, and that breakthrough applied to Dabura Karaba as well. It was a huge turning point in understanding his powers!

During his fight with Mahoraga, Dabura cleverly used a reversed cursed technique to regrow his lost leg. Realizing Mahoraga had become immune to his usual light-based attacks – even those delivered at incredible speed – Dabura innovated a completely new ability. By reversing his cursed technique, he created Darkness, a far more potent force than light, though it drains a significant amount of energy. This new attack is expected to defeat Mahoraga quickly, and fans are eager to see the full extent of Dabura’s power.

Dabura Should Be Able To Create A Hollow Technique

Dabura’s abilities extend beyond simply controlling light and darkness. He now clearly possesses both, and, similar to Gojo, he likely can combine them to create a powerful, destructive technique. Gojo achieved this by merging his Red and Blue infinite techniques, resulting in Hollow Purple – an imaginary force capable of obliterating almost anything it touches.

Dabura could potentially achieve something similar by combining light and darkness. This could result in a huge black hole appearing in Tokyo, capable of destroying almost everything around it. This would become his most powerful ability, one that even Mahoraga wouldn’t be able to withstand.

Fans should especially watch Dabura’s upcoming fight with Yuji Itadori. As the battle unfolds, Dabura is expected to unlock new, potent skills, including Simple Domains, which will eventually lead to him mastering Domain Expansion. If Dabura can infuse his abilities into his Domain Expansion, he could become an incredibly powerful sorcerer, potentially reaching a level comparable to Yuji Itadori – who has already proven stronger than Gojo and Sukuna.
