Valheim “The Bog Witch” update detailed

As a seasoned Valheim veteran, who has traversed the treacherous shores of Meadows, braved the icy depths of Frozen Wastes, and even dared to tread the dark paths of Shattered Mountains, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement at the prospect of the upcoming Bog Witch update.

The creative minds behind Valheim, Iron Gate Studio, have unveiled their plans for the game’s future, sharing intriguing details about the upcoming “The Bog Witch” update.

During a recent live stream from The Spill’s developers, it was announced that an update is on the horizon. Here’s what we can expect: A new character has moved into the Swamps, allowing vikings to host feasts for their friends. Additionally, new skills, building components, and crafting materials have been introduced, enriching the core gameplay experience.

Here’s the full details from the press release:

In the ominous Swamps of Valheim, many fear its dangerous creatures lurking in the murky bogs. However, not everything slithering or scurrying here is lethal. Adventurers may unexpectedly discover a humble hut adorned with charms and candles. This enigmatic dwelling belongs to an enchantress known as The Bog Witch. Her presence seems to echo that of a Greydwarf, offering potions, spices, and novel materials for expanding toolsets and crafting new recipes.

Lucky travelers finding the Bog Witch’s Cottage may barter their gold for special ingredients needed to brew Tonics, Meads, and Draughts which temporarily boost strength, agility, and stamina. However, be mindful to avoid the broom when making your visit.

In the latest Bog Witch update, members designated as chefs or cooks in a friend group can now create grand feasts for their fellow Vikings to enjoy. These extended banquets will showcase an array of mouthwatering dishes inspired by various regions within Valheim, ensuring a diverse and satisfying dining experience. Eight new feasts are being added, each featuring ingredients sourced from distinct biomes.

In a more casual and engaging tone: Vikings can relax and savor Swamp Dweller’s Delight, arrange a picturesque Plains Pie Picnic on a hill untouched by Fuling, or throw an extravagant Mushrooms Galore party in the Mistlands – it seems the afterlife can be as delightful and enjoyable as life itself!

The upcoming test phase for the Bog Witch update is just around the corner, giving you a sneak peek if you’re interested!

Valheim is currently available on PC and Xbox (preview programme).
