This article contains spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen.
The ending of Jujutsu Kaisen left many questions unanswered, and fans are still trying to figure out what happened to certain characters. It’s currently unclear whether these characters are alive or dead, and only the author, Gege Akutami, knows the truth. One of the biggest mysteries surrounds Jin Itadori, who plays a vital role in Yuji Itadori’s story.
As a huge fan of Jujutsu Kaisen, I’ve been thinking a lot about Jin Itadori, Yuji’s dad and Wasuke’s son. We know of him, but his story is so murky! What really drove him, and what was his actual purpose? Honestly, I think he’s even more unsettling than Kenjaku. It’s not about how strong he is, or even how many people he hurt, it’s about the choices he made. Kenjaku is just a monster, acting like one, but Jin Itadori was a person who knew what was happening and still chose to do nothing. That’s what really gets under my skin.
Jin Itadori Accepted Kenjaku as Kaori’s Replacement
Jin Itadori Used His Dead Wife’s Body to Have a Son
Fans are eager to learn more about Yuji Itadori’s family, but the series hasn’t revealed much information. In fact, details about the Itadori family are scarce, with only a few scattered and mysterious clues appearing throughout the story. Essentially, Yuji’s family background remains largely unknown.
Despite this, fans have long believed that Jin Itadori is Yuji’s biological father. Chapter 257 of Jujutsu Kaisen revealed that Jin’s soul was actually a reincarnation of Sukuna’s younger brother, who Sukuna absorbed before he was born. Furthermore, Jin was married to Kaori Itadori, who possessed a powerful cursed technique called the Antigravity System, which ultimately drew Kenjaku’s attention to the Itadori family.
Jin and Kaori had difficulty having a child, and Kaori only became pregnant after Kenjaku possessed her body. Although Jin knew his wife was no longer herself, he didn’t seem to care, prioritizing his desire for a child above all else. He lived with and accepted the deception, remaining detached throughout the pregnancy. Ultimately, Yuji’s birth wasn’t the result of love, but of Jin willingly allowing Kenjaku to use Kaori’s body.
Jin Itadori Did Not Raise Yuji
Yuji Barely Remembers Jin Itadori
I’ve noticed a really sad pattern with Yuji Itadori and his father, Jin. Despite wanting a family, Jin wasn’t really there for Yuji. Wasuke essentially stepped up and raised Yuji as his own, and it’s heartbreaking because Yuji even admitted to Junpei that he has almost no memories of his father. Jin just disappeared from his life, and Wasuke filled that gap with a lot of love and care.
It’s still unclear what happened to Jin Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen. After Yuji’s birth, the author, Gege Akutami, hasn’t shared any details about his fate. Although some fans believe Jin is still alive, there’s no solid evidence to support this. Similarly, there’s no proof he died – all records of him disappear after Yuji was a young child. Notably, Yuji and Wasuke never visited a grave to honor him, adding to the mystery.
I never met her (Kaori). I barely remember my dad (Jin) either.—Yuji to Junpei
Similar to what happened with Yuji Itadori, Iori Okkotsu has also disappeared without a trace in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. His last known interaction was a conversation with Yuji, and after that, no one has seen or heard from him. Tsurugi notes this happened around the time Yuka was born, mirroring how Yuji completely vanished from Yori’s life.
Jin Itadori’s Status Remains Unknown
Is Jin Itadori Alive or Dead?
It’s still unclear what happened to Jin Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen. The author, Gege Akutami, didn’t reveal his fate until the very end of the story, which sparked a lot of debate among fans. Many believed Kenjaku killed Jin after using him to help Yuji’s birth, as Kenjaku is a ruthless character who wouldn’t hesitate to eliminate anyone who served his purpose.
Some people still think Jin Itadori left Yuji’s life as punishment for what he did with Kaori’s body. Maybe he intentionally removed himself, wanting to deal with his guilt alone. Regardless of whether he’s still alive, he can’t escape the consequences of his actions and what he knew.
