First Trailer Released for ‘COR3’, An Upcoming Sci-Fi Shooter From Tarkov’s Developer

COR3CORP recently unveiled a trailer for COR3, a new and enigmatic sci-fi first-person shooter. Interestingly, the game has a connection to Nikita Buyanov, the lead behind the popular extraction shooter Escape from Tarkov. Buyanov has headed the studio at Battlestate Games for over ten years and is known for creating one of the most influential games in the extraction shooter genre.

The very first trailer for the game COR3, though only a minute long, gives us a good idea of what to expect. It’s a sci-fi adventure set on Mars, experienced from a first-person perspective. You can check out this short trailer below to get a glimpse of the game.

What is COR3 and Why is it Exciting?

COR3 is the first project in many years from Nikita Buyanov that isn’t connected to the game Escape from Tarkov. Before the trailer was released, a series of teasers, mysterious social media posts, and confusing websites built anticipation.

We showed interested players an interactive website with background information about what we believe is the game’s title, COR3. However, the actual title hasn’t been confirmed yet.

The website features a world set after a disaster, where players take on the role of an investigator with basic tools. They explore systems and solve simple, game-like puzzles. The whole thing is very mysterious, and even after the first trailer was released, it’s still unclear what the game is actually about – or what’s happening on Earth or Mars!

Here’s the trailer for your perusal:

Currently, we’re referring to it as COR3, as that’s the only official label we have. However, the video’s file name, PRJRPNT_BLUEMARS_FO, suggests a possible title: Project Repent: Blue Mars?

Right now, it’s impossible to predict what will happen next, as we haven’t seen much yet. Now it’s up to fans online to carefully examine the trailer for clues. The website that was counting down to the trailer’s release now simply shows… the trailer itself.

The video begins with a view as if you’re looking through the character’s eyes, similar to the gameplay in Escape from Tarkov, showing how they handle a weapon made by ‘Kalash Corp’. The camera then pulls back to reveal ‘Mariner City’ in ruins, before showing a wider view of the Martian landscape.

Our journey takes us up through the clouds and into space, passing a space elevator and the wreckage of old ships. We find cosmonauts – not astronauts – lost and drifting in the vastness of space. Their Russian suits, marked with a red star, clearly show their origin.
