Creator Eiichiro Oda has established Sanji as one of the most vital members of the crew – on par with Zoro and second only to Luffy – making him crucial to Luffy’s journey to become the Pirate King. His importance in this final part of the story is clear.

Sanji is a valuable member of the crew, but he needs to become even stronger. For Luffy to achieve his dream of becoming Pirate King and defeating Imu, Sanji must significantly improve his abilities. He received the Raid Suit from Germa 66, which unlocked hidden potential within his genes, though he didn’t realize it at the time. Even after destroying the Raid Suit, believing he was finished with Germa, those genetic changes had already begun to awaken.

His power reached a level that surpassed even the strongest commanders serving the Yonko, leading many to believe he’d reached his limit. However, the author is hinting at even further enhancements to Sanji’s abilities.

Luffy isn’t just aiming for Yonko status – he wants to become the Pirate King. Similarly, Sanji needs to surpass typical Yonko Commander strength and reach Yonko level himself. We saw a preview of his potential during the Egghead Arc when he fought Kizaru and completely nullified his laser attacks. I truly believe it’s just a matter of time before Luffy and his crew become legendary throughout the Grand Line! I’m so excited to see them face off against the World Government – I have a feeling Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji will stand out as some of the most powerful fighters ever seen, and they’re going to take down Imu’s forces. Honestly, being a fan of Zoro and Sanji right now is amazing, because I just know they’re going to reach unbelievable heights as we head into the Final Saga. It’s going to be epic!
