Fans of the Pokemon Trading Card Game can now play with all the new cards from the Ascended Heroes expansion through Pokemon TCG Live. This is the first Pokemon expansion of 2026 and it’s a large release, adding over 200 cards to the game. Ascended Heroes includes both popular cards returning for another run and many powerful new Pokemon, and it’s expected to be one of the most popular sets ever released for the TCG.
The Pokémon Company has announced that the new Ascended Heroes set is the biggest Pokémon Trading Card Game set ever released, with a total of 295 cards – surpassing the previous record held by Fusion Strike. This highly anticipated set is expected to significantly change the competitive scene, with cards like Mega Feraligatr ex predicted to be strong contenders. Players on Pokémon TCG Live are already getting a first look at the new cards before they’re used in tournaments.
Pokemon TCG Live Players Can Try Out Ascended Heroes Early
The digital card game Pokemon TCG Live now includes the newest set, Ascended Heroes, over a month before the physical cards are released. A recent update added all the cards from the set, letting players immediately use them in online matches. You can find bundles for the expansion in the in-game shop, including options based on the Sticker Collections and the upcoming Elite Trainer Box. The physical cards aren’t scheduled to be playable until March 6th.
Fans can now play with some exciting new cards from the Pokemon TCG Live version of the Ascended Heroes set. Along with the previously revealed Mega Feraligatr ex, other powerful Mega Pokemon from the Legends: Z-A set, like Mega Hawlucha and Mega Dragonite, have been added. The expansion also introduces new Supporter cards, such as Canari which helps Electric decks find cards, and Anthea & Concordia, which can significantly boost Prize cards in decks focused on N’s Pokemon. However, the digital release on Pokemon TCG Live comes at a difficult time, as the physical version of Ascended Heroes is facing some issues.
Ascended Heroes’ Physical Release Is Already Having Issues
While the first physical products for Ascended Heroes are now available, there’s been a setback with the Erika & Larry Collections. Originally planned to release at the same time as the Sticker Collections, these Gym Leader-themed products are now delayed until February 20th, launching alongside the Elite Trainer Boxes. This also means fans will have to wait longer to use the new Ascended Heroes cards in official tournaments.
