According to an analyst, Embark Studios spent $75 million on ARC Raiders, covering both development and marketing costs.
Okay, so ARC Raiders dropped in 2025 and it blew up – Embark Studios really nailed it with this extraction adventure. They just had a huge update too, which had some hiccups, but also added a ton of cool stuff. But that’s not what I want to talk about today. I’m curious about how much it actually cost to make this game!
ARC Raiders Budget Reportedly Revealed
A new video from SIFTD Games features industry analyst Michael Pachter discussing Ubisoft’s future following recent changes. Pachter shared his thoughts on various topics, including game development costs, and revealed the budget for the upcoming game, ARC Raiders.
According to Patcher, Ubisoft’s current game development process isn’t working – taking five years to create a game that only sells five million copies isn’t a viable strategy. He believes three years is a more reasonable timeframe. He also points out that while people compare Ubisoft to Rockstar and the potential $1.5-2 billion cost of GTA 6, they don’t realize Rockstar is likely to earn that money back very quickly, potentially within the first week of release.
The analyst emphasizes that ARC Raiders shouldn’t be measured against blockbuster titles like Grand Theft Auto, FIFA, or older Call of Duty games; it should be judged on its own merits. He then revealed the game’s development cost: $75 million. This figure includes three years of work by a team of 70 developers, as well as marketing expenses. Despite the high cost, the game has already generated $500 million in revenue from over 12 million units sold and is projected to earn nearly a billion dollars in total.
