As a long-time survivor of countless zombie apocalypses and a self-proclaimed connoisseur of all things undead, let me tell you that the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster has been an absolute delight! The return to the infested Willamette Parkview Mall feels like coming home, even if it’s a home filled with the undead.
The Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster revives the chaos of zombies at the Willamette Parkview Mall once more. This remastered version retains many of the original’s quirks, but enhances the gameplay for new players to enjoy smoother gameplay. Character Frank West can uncover a variety of secrets within the mall, which range from fun easter eggs to weapons and items that aid in survival.
Guns aren’t the best way to take out the massive hordes of zombies infesting the mall. However, they do come in handy when fighting the deranged Psychopath bosses that can be found while exploring and hunting down cases. The Submachine Gun is a powerful firearm resembling an Uzi that has automatic fire. It can shoot 100 times before Frank has to discard it. It’s a rare weapon that can only be found in some hard-to-reach places. Thankfully, there is one hidden in a very convenient location. Here is where you can find the Submachine Gun very early on in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster.
Early Submachine Gun Location
Following the initial stages of the game, Frank meets Jessie and Brad. Later, Brad departs to handle a suspicious terrorist linked to the zombie infestation. It’s possible to obtain the Submachine Gun before the first confrontation with Carlito. Exit the security room and access the mall through the warehouse.
You’ll frequently find yourself at Paradise Plaza, a place we refer to often during your journeys between the Security Room. Frank will guide survivors through this area and progress the story by handling cases in the Security Room. To your left upon exiting the warehouse, you’ll spot a shoe store named Shoekin’s.
The Submachine Gun is located on the awning directly above the store. Run to the right past the camera, jewelry, and children’s clothing store. Walk halfway up the stairwell to the second floor. Turn right at the halfway point and jump over the rail to climb onto the first awning. Stick close to the wall and walk past the cardboard box. Orange juice will consistently spawn next to this box if you need healing. Continue back across Paradise Plaza towards Shoekin’s. Frank will not fall off the narrow ledges. The Submachine Gun will be lying on its side above the store. It will respawn, so grab one whenever you’re in the area.
