As a seasoned gamer with years of Destiny 2 under my belt, I can confidently say that the arrival of the Revenant Episode has brought a fresh wave of excitement to the game. The new tonics and artifact have added an interesting layer to the gameplay, offering opportunities for upgrades and customization that weren’t there before.
The Revenant Episode has finally arrived in Destiny 2, and with it comes a brand new seasonal artifact and tonics that will enhance your abilities in battle. Tonics serve as this season’s upgrade branch so you can unlock new gear, upgrade your artifact, and brew some boosts that will help in higher-tier activities like Grandmaster Nightfalls and Raids.
In Destiny 2, it provides instructions for brewing various tonics, allowing you to select those that suit your gaming approach and character build. Additionally, at this stage, you’ll gain access to fieldwork with Eido to craft stronger tonics. However, the catch is that you need to acquire a specific number of tonic recipes to receive additional fieldwork quests, but the game doesn’t give clear directions on how to achieve this.
How to Unlock Tonic Recipes in Destiny 2
It’s great news that learning how to make tonics in Destiny 2 is quite straightforward. After finishing some parts of the Prologue and gaining access to the tonic lab, you can discover new recipes by either blending various tonics or producing the same tonic several times. As you try out different mixtures, you’ll uncover new recipes, leading to more fieldwork quests for Eido to finish.
To put it another way, making several concoctions of Frost Protection Potions will give you a new recipe. In total, there are 45 unique recipes to discover, which means it will take some effort, but as you spend more time in the field, this process should gradually feel less challenging.
How to Craft Tonics
As a gamer, I found out that I can create potions by utilizing the potion crafting table, which is conveniently located next to Eido in the Last City. Once I’ve wrapped up the initial quest of the new season, this area will be accessible to me. To brew a potion, here’s what I need to do:
- Interact with the Tonic Table.
- Select the tonics you want to craft.
- Walk to the nearby shelf with materials and grab some.
- Interact with the tonic tester behind Eido. You’ll need to do this twice.
- Activate the broken down tank to spawn your tonics.
To craft each tonic, you’ll require a specific amount of resources. You can obtain these resources through Revenant activities. To find out exactly what materials are needed for the tonic you wish to create, simply hover your cursor over it. If you want to know where to acquire specific resources, you can also do so by examining the Tonic Capsule and looking at the reagents bar located at the bottom.
In this game, there isn’t a fixed rate for obtaining reagents from enemies. However, one effective method to gather reagents is by repeatedly doing the latest seasonal activity several times. This guarantees you can make some of the basic potions at least. As the season progresses and more activities become accessible, you’ll be able to farm rarer reagents for stronger potions.
In the game, there are two types of potions: Aggressive and Nutritious. Aggressive Potions boost combat abilities in Destiny 2, amplifying your artifact perks. On the other hand, Nutritious Potions modify how loot drops and activity rewards are customized according to your preferences. You can only use one of each at a time, and you consume them via the Tonic Capsule.
