As someone who’s been playing games since the days of the original PlayStation, I can confidently say that the system requirements for Red Dead Redemption on PC are a breath of fresh air. With my current setup, I could probably run it smoothly even with the recommended specifications. It’s a relief to see that age doesn’t necessarily mean a game won’t perform well.


Hard to believe that Red Dead Redemption first appeared on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 way back in May 2010! For many gamers, that seems like a lifetime ago, but now we’re on the brink of having it on PC after over a decade. To make sure you’re all set for this classic title, here are the system requirements for Red Dead Redemption!

Red Dead Redemption Minimum and Recommended System Requirements

Despite being over a decade old, you might not think that Red Dead Redemption would demand much from your gaming system. However, this isn’t the case. The system requirements for this open-world game are generally manageable, and most systems can comfortably run even the suggested specifications with ease.

Minimum System Requirements:

  • Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-4670 / AMD FX-9590
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM

When Can You Play Red Dead Redemption on PC?

Instead of waiting impatiently for the holiday season, Rockstar Games has brought forward the long-awaited PC version of Red Dead Redemption, allowing players to embark on an open-world Wild West journey starting October 29th.

At its debut, the game boasts a variety of PC-tailored aspects such as 4K resolution, compatibility with ultrawide and super ultrawide monitors, HDR10 support, complete mouse and keyboard control, Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) and FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), adjustable draw distances, varying shadow quality options, and additional features.

Oh, and it does include Undead Nightmare!

For enthusiasts of Rockstar Games, here’s an interesting tidbit: Reports indicate that the studio is said to have proposed paying around $7500 for the privilege of using a band’s track in Grand Theft Auto 6, while also offering exclusive rights to it.
