Playing with friends is a lot of fun, and that’s true in Heartopia too! You can share a town with your friends, complete quests together, and even raise pets. However, you’ll have limited options when playing with friends until your friendship level increases.
Playing with friends is great, even at the first friendship level! But as you become closer in Heartopia, you’ll unlock new features and ways to play together. Here’s how to increase your friendship level so you and your friends can enjoy everything the game has to offer.
How to Increase Friendship Level in Heartopia
To strengthen your friendships in Heartopia, you need to interact directly with your friends. When you’re in the same town, get close to each other and look for icons appearing above your heads. The icon that lets you do a special two-person action looks like two figures standing together with a heart – it’s the icon furthest to the right.
Tap this button to view actions you can do with another player. Choose what you want to do, and then wait for your friend to agree.
When my friend wants to team up for something, a little icon pops up over their head showing what we’re gonna do. All I have to do is click on that icon to join them and we’re good to go!
Players receive Friendship Marks only once per day when they complete an activity together. Doing multiple activities or repeating the same one won’t earn extra marks. Once enough Friendship Marks are collected, the players’ Friendship Level will go up.
Players receive only a limited number of Friendship Marks daily, so leveling up friendships takes time and consistent interaction with friends. You won’t be able to reach higher Friendship Levels quickly.
How to Visit a Friend in Heartopia
There are two ways to visit a friend in Heartopia. One way is to join your friend’s town instead of a random one when you log in. To do this, tap the white icon to the right of the start button on the main screen.
As a player, I’ve found that clicking on this icon shows me a list of all my friends. It displays their name, what town they’re in, and how many people live there. Best of all, there’s a bright blue join button next to each friend’s name. If I want to visit them, all I have to do is press that button and I’m instantly transported to their town!

Once you reach your friend’s town, open the map. You’ll see an icon showing where your friend is right now. Their house will be marked with a red heart.
You can visit your friends even if you live in different towns! Just open the Friendship Journal app, choose the friend you want to visit, and tap the orange ‘Visit’ button at the bottom of the screen. When the game asks if you’re sure, tap ‘Confirm’ to travel to their town.
If they have room in their town, choosing to visit will also move your house.
How to Check Friendship Level in Heartopia
You can see how close you are with a friend using the Heartopia Friendship Journal app. Just choose the friend you’re interested in, then tap the red heart icon at the top right of their folder. This will display your current friendship level, how much more you need to level up, and any shared activities you’ve unlocked.

Heartopia lets players unlock fun new activities with their friends as they become closer. Increasing your Friendship Level opens up different actions and abilities you can enjoy together.
