Ah, the anticipation of October is truly palpable! As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that Dead Island 2, coming to PlayStation Plus next month, is an absolute must-play.

Earlier today, we shared news about the array of games coming to PlayStation Plus in October. In total, there are 14 exciting games joining the service, but one title truly shines among the others.

By April 2023, long-awaited Dead Island 2 was officially launched by Dambuster Studios following a difficult decade-long production process. This game had garnered immense anticipation as one of the most eagerly awaited open-world zombie survival titles. Once it arrived on the market, it certainly lived up to expectations.

In October, you’ll be able to get it for free on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Kept You Waiting

Approximately one and a half years have passed since Dead Island 2 was released, and during this period, Dambuster Studios has consistently added new content to the game, including two significant expansion packs.

In May 2024, this popular open-world zombie game surpassed seven million players, and soon, another significant content expansion is coming to the platform. On October 22, gamers can expect the ‘Neighbourhood Watch’ update, featuring a horde mode and new game plus options.

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that this update comes at no cost! Timed perfectly, it’s now ready for my gaming library on PlayStation Plus.

From the instant I started playing the pre-release version, I was captivated by Dead Island 2. It’s a laugh-out-loud, gory adventure that transports players into an immersive narrative, which unfolds across various small sandbox settings.
