In Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, characters get stronger as their stats and attributes improve, which directly impacts how well they fight.
Players will face many challenging battles on their journey, so understanding stats is crucial. Here’s a breakdown of each stat, what it affects, and how to improve it permanently.
Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined All Stats Explained
As a huge fan of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, I’ve been trying to wrap my head around how stats actually work. So, I put together a complete breakdown of every stat in the game and what it does to help my characters – hopefully it helps you too!
| Attributes | Effects |
|---|---|
| HP | Total value of Hit Points on the character. When the Hit Points reach 0, the character faints and is unable to participate in battle or gain experience after the battle ends. After the battle ends, all characters with 0 hit points will return to 1 HP. |
| MP | Mana Points or Magical Power, is the total value of energy used for skills and spells. When characters hit MP 0 they are unable to use Spells and need to recharge them using items. |
| Attack | Determines the physical strength of characters and the power of their weapon attacks. |
| Defense | Determines the overall resistance of characters and diminishes the impact of the attacks they receive. |
| Strength | Is the raw value of the physical strength of characters without applying equipment bonuses. |
| Resilience | Is the raw value of the character’s physical resistance without applying equipment bonuses. |
| Magical Might | Determines the power of characters’ magical attacks. Magical Might increases spell power and the chance of applying status effects on enemies. |
| Magical Mending | Determines the power of characters’ healing spells. Magical Mending increases the value of health recovered with spells and the amount of HP recovered after reviving a character. |
| Agility | Determines the ability of characters to Evade attacks and increases Action Priority. The higher this attribute, the faster characters will act in combat, and the more frequently they will evade attacks. |
| Deftness | Determines the ability for characters to surprise their enemies, acting in the first round of combat. It also increases the chances of success when attempting to Flee combat. |
| Charm | Determines the character’s ability to stun monsters for several turns. The higher this value, the more likely it is to charm a monster and prevent it from attacking. |
Now that players know how each stat affects the game, let’s look at how they can improve those stats.
How To Permanently Increase Stats in Dragon Quest VII Reimagined

Okay, so in Dragon Quest VII, there are a couple of ways to make my characters stronger permanently. The most obvious one is just leveling them up – as they gain levels, all their important stats go up automatically. It’s a pretty standard RPG thing, but it works!
Different characters improve in different ways based on what they do in the game. For instance, Maribel focuses on magic, so her magical power and MP will increase faster than those of the main character or Kiefer.
In Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, you can boost your characters’ stats permanently by giving them Seeds. There are different kinds of Seeds, and each one raises a specific stat.
Seeds are one-time-use items hidden throughout the game world. They can be found in tucked-away spots and specific locations, and while they take some searching to find, they significantly improve your characters’ abilities.
Players can also boost their stats by equipping items like gear, accessories, and monster hearts. However, these stat boosts aren’t permanent and will adjust whenever the character changes equipment.
Generally, these numbers will also go up as players find and use better equipment for their characters. However, it’s important to remember that some gear focuses on improving specific stats while potentially lowering others, so consider that when choosing what to equip.
