Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen is gradually building towards the Culling Game arc, but first, it needs to cover the Perfect Preparation story arc. In Episode 5, Itadori and Megumi visit the Gachinko Fight Club to meet Kinji Hakari, a senior student from their school, Jujutsu High.

The latest episode also showed how Masamichi Yaga died, in a short but incredibly emotional scene that moved many viewers to tears. A particularly touching moment featured Panda rushing to embrace his father’s body. While Yaga’s death was sad, fans were mostly thrilled to finally see Kinji Hakari.

Itadori Met Kinji Hakari In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 5

The newest episode revealed that Megumi and Itadori needed someone to fight at the club to get close to Kinji Hakari. Megumi cautioned Itadori not to reveal anything that might give Hakari a hint about their intentions, or they’d never be able to reach him. Understanding the situation, Itadori entered a match against Panda.

I watched as Yuji and Panda really worked the crowd, putting on a fantastic performance. It definitely caught Kinji Hakari’s attention. When Yuji won his match, he was sent to meet Hakari, who immediately started giving him a lesson on what makes good entertainment. Hakari peppered him with questions, but Yuji seemed to be playing it cool, trying not to reveal too much.

Itadori made a mistake by being evasive when questioned about Gojo Satoru. This raised Kinji Hakari’s suspicions, leading to an immediate attack on Itadori. However, the episode cut short before the fight could begin.

While Itadori is a strong fighter, Hakari is on a completely different level – Yuta Okkotsu even considered him stronger than himself, though Maki disagreed. Given Itadori’s previous difficulty fighting Yuta, he’s likely to face a similar struggle in this upcoming episode. Hakari might give Itadori a chance to explain himself, but it’s not certain he’ll listen. Itadori will need to defend himself from his senior at all costs.

Honestly, I’m so hyped for the inevitable fight – it’s finally going to give us a real look at what Kinji Hakari can do! Knowing he runs a fight club and is a huge gambler, I’ve got a strong feeling his cursed technique will tie into one of those passions. Even if he doesn’t go all out, I think we’ll still get a pretty good sense of just how powerful he is and what he’s capable of. I’m really excited to see it all unfold!

As we’ve discussed, the third season of Jujutsu Kaisen will center around the Culling Game arc, and each new episode is bringing it closer to starting. The fight between Kinji and Itadori likely won’t fill the whole episode, allowing the show to introduce some of the other players who will be involved in the Culling Game.
