In My Hero Academia, having a helpful “rescue quirk” is a source of pride for both established heroes and those training to become one. These quirks allow them to provide crucial assistance during emergencies – from responding to disasters and providing medical care to helping with evacuations. Plus, being able to use a rescue quirk effectively can improve a hero’s reputation and even boost their ranking on the Hero Billboard Chart.
Many characters in My Hero Academia have superpowers – or ‘quirks’ – that are ideal for rescuing people. All Might’s One For All is a prime example, as he used it constantly to save lives. But One For All isn’t the only helpful quirk in the series. Here are some of the most impressive ones for rescue work.
Fierce Wings
Quirk User: Hawks
Keigo Takami, known as Hawks, is a prominent hero in My Hero Academia thanks to his powerful quirk, Fierce Wings. His impressive fiery wings not only allow him to fly, but also reassure people during emergencies, as he can quickly use his feathers to evacuate them to safety.
Hawks consistently demonstrates that his Fierce Wings aren’t just for fighting; they’re also a dependable rescue ability. He uses his feathers to save people, whether it’s lifting civilians from falling debris or locating those who desperately need assistance.
Warp Gate
Quirk User: Kurogiri
Being able to instantly travel to any location would be a huge help during emergencies. Kurogiri has this ability with his Warp Gate, letting him create portals to quickly assist his friends. He can also use it to escape danger whenever he needs to.
The Warp Gate could be incredibly valuable for rescues. Kurogiri can instantly create a portal from any location to a hospital, getting injured people immediate medical attention. He could also keep people safe by quickly moving them away from danger.
Zero Gravity
Quirk User: Ochako Uraraka
Image by studio Bones. Ochako Uraraka would be a valuable addition to the disaster cleanup team. Her ability to make objects weightless would allow her to quickly and safely move heavy debris, significantly speeding up the recovery process.
Ochako’s ability isn’t just useful for cleanup after something bad happens. Her enhanced Zero Gravity power lets her lift people to safety without even needing to physically touch them.
Engine
Quirk User: Tenya Iida
When lives are on the line, speed is essential, and Tenya Iida’s Engine quirk is exceptionally helpful. The gears in his calves allow him to accelerate rapidly, letting him quickly reach those in danger. Ultimately, he can evacuate people and get them to safety faster than almost anyone.
Throughout much of My Hero Academia, Iida consistently used his speed to assist others, especially his classmates. He’s saved numerous people from danger, proving how important a fast hero like him really is.
Black Hole
Quirk User: Thirteen
Thirteen, also known as Anan Kurose, is a Pro Hero widely recognized for her expertise in search and rescue. Her quirk, Black Hole, is specifically designed for effective rescue operations, making her a popular figure among fans.
Black Hole lets Thirteen create a powerful suction with her fingertips, like a miniature black hole. She can use this to quickly remove obstacles – things like rubble or debris – to clear paths for escape or help with rescue operations.
Creation
Quirk User: Momo Yaoyorozu
Momo Yaoyorozu is often called the “Swiss Army knife” of rescue missions because of her powerful Creation quirk. She can basically make anything she understands the structure of – whether it’s a tool, a weapon, or even medical supplies – making her a hugely valuable teammate.
Momo can instantly create whatever tools are needed during a disaster. Whether it’s simple things like bridges and ladders, or larger equipment to remove debris, Momo can make it happen.
Overhaul
Quirk User: Kai Chisaki
Kai Chisaki, also known as Overhaul, possessed a powerful quirk that he primarily used to attack heroes, but it also had incredible potential for rescue work. Overhaul gave him complete control over matter, letting him reshape his surroundings. He could destroy objects with a touch, but also rebuild damaged buildings. Beyond just affecting things, his quirk allowed him to heal injuries far more effectively than even Recovery Girl, and remarkably, he could even restore lost limbs.
One For All
Quirk User: All Might
For years, All Might, the eighth wielder of One For All, has rescued countless people. A famous video of him saving civilians with a cheerful smile became incredibly well-known and is still remembered by everyone – both heroes and villains.
Even in the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes series, All Might consistently rescued people in need. As long as he was present, both civilians and heroes felt safe, knowing he’d protect them. His power, One For All, allowed him to accomplish incredible feats. Essentially, it enabled him to save people with a speed and power that seemed impossible.
