In the game Hytale, Quartzite is a stone block players can use to build homes and bases. It’s not a very common material, and can only be found in certain areas of the game world.
If you need a lot of quartzite to build your base, it’s important to know where to find it. This guide shows you all the places quartzite appears in the game, so you can easily gather what you need.
How to Get Quartzite in Hytale
There are five locations where you can find Quartzite in Hytale:
- Spawn Room
- Emerald Grove Ruins
- Howling Sands Shores
- Crystalline Depths
- Devastated Lands
Spawn room
Every time you start a new game of Hytale, you’ll begin in a starting area built from Quartzite and other blocks, close to the Forgotten Temple. You can mine these blocks like any others in the game, making this the very first place players can find Quartzite.
Emerald Grove (Zone 1) Ruins
Emerald Grove (Area 1) contains small ruins and enemy bases guarded by Skeletons and other creatures. These buildings are constructed from Quartzite. Keep an eye out for these ruins on the map – they can be tricky to find unless you zoom in closely, but they have a unique shape that helps them stand out (as shown in the image).
Quartzite building materials cannot be smelted back into their base ore at a Furnace.
Howling Sands (Zone 2) Shores
As a long-time Hytale player, I’ve discovered that the beaches around the Howling Sands (Zone 2) are packed with Quartzite! You can find huge deposits of it just underwater, close to the shore. It usually spawns with other common materials like Calcite and Stone, and if you’re really lucky, even a little bit of Gold!
Crystalline Depths
You can find quartzite blocks deep underwater in an area called the Crystalline Depths. These deposits appear as small pillars, along the sides of the ocean walls, or hidden in deep crevices. Because they’re so deep, it’s difficult to mine directly from the ocean floor, so it’s best to focus on collecting quartzite from the deposits found on the ocean walls.
If you need air underwater, try digging horizontally into a wall, then dig upwards two blocks – this will create a small air pocket you can breathe in.
Devastated Lands (Zone 4) Underground Jungle
The Devastated Lands (Zone 4) usually contain a hidden underground jungle. This area is like a mini-world with tropical islands, dinosaurs, and trees that glow pink. You can find Quartzite in this jungle, often as part of walls or pillars. It’s usually located high up, so players need to build their own platforms to reach it.
How to Make Quartzite Building Blocks
In Hytale, mined Quartzite is transformed into Quartzite Cobble. You can then use a Builder’s Workbench to craft this Cobble into building materials like stairs, walls, floors, and doors – everything you need to construct a base.
The process is simple. First, craft a Builder’s Workbench and put Quartzite Cobble into its input slot. Choose the building material you need from the available options, and it will appear directly in your inventory. If you just want to convert Quartzite Cobble into regular Quartzite, select the Quartzite icon above the Cobble to make the change.
You can also turn Quartzite Cobble into Quartzite using a furnace and fuel, but this takes time and uses up resources. The Builder’s Workbench is a faster, resource-free way to do the same thing.
