The company suggested it would be revealed before the end of their fiscal year, which is March 2025. This news sparked excitement among gamers worldwide. However, recent rumors suggest that the launch event for the Switch 2 has been pushed back, causing some impatient fans to feel frustrated due to the lack of new information from Nintendo. Alas, it appears these enthusiasts may have to wait a bit longer before they can get their hands on Nintendo’s next console.
Rumors Allege that the Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal Has Been Delayed
The Nintendo Switch 2 Was Apparently Going to be Announced This Week
As a dedicated fan, I’ve got some exciting news (or rather, potential news) about Nintendo’s upcoming console – the so-called Switch 2. The hosts of Un Cafe Con Nintendo, my favorite Spanish-language Nintendo podcast, have hinted at some interesting speculation. They claim that Nintendo had initially planned to unveil this new console between October 8th and 11th, but it seems those plans may have shifted. Unfortunately, this means the console might not be revealed any time soon, which has left us fans eagerly waiting for more updates.
Un Cafe Con Nintendo Has Been Wrong About Switch 2 Information in the Past
It’s worth mentioning that Un Cafe Con Nintendo previously stated in early September that Nintendo informed its employees about a significant event, which was rumored to be related to the Switch 2. The hosts of the podcast were certain that the unannounced console would be announced within the following weeks. Yet, as we moved past September, it’s become apparent that Nintendo had no major events planned for that month, neither a Switch 2 launch nor a Nintendo Direct.
Regarding the conflicting reports, the original Redditor who shared the news about Un Cafe Con Nintendo’s statements, Future31, proposed that the podcast’s latest report on a potential delay in the Switch 2 announcement could be a correction of their earlier rumor. He further suggested that UCCN’s claims from September might have been based on speculation initially. Future31 also suggested that if Nintendo indeed delayed the release of its next console, it might be to concentrate more on marketing its upcoming 2024 games such as “Mario and Luigi: Brothership”, “Mario Party Jamboree”, and “Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake”.
The Switch 2 Should Still Be On Track for a Reveal Before March 2025
Even if Un Cafe Con Nintendo’s report about the Switch 2 reveal event being delayed is accurate, it doesn’t necessarily indicate that the console won’t be unveiled until after March 2025. Based on the wording of what the podcast hosts said, it seems the announcement has only been postponed from this week, and nothing more. Either way, it’s best to take Un Cafe Con Nintendo’s words with a grain of salt, since the podcast doesn’t have much of a track record when it comes to accurately leaking information.
